How can I still hear my tuner when it's off?
Audiopman,It is a Fanfare FT-1A, which Marv Southcott left MD and started Fanfare, so the fact that both these brands do this shouldn't be surprising. Anyway, I wasn't really concerned of a defect or I would of just contacted Marv, I was just curi...
How can I still hear my tuner when it's off?
I follow you, I have had numerous units that have a standy by button as well as an off button. Seeing that the tuner, Fanfare FT-1A, doesn't have both, I assumed off was off.I cannot change stations while the unit is off, as it's push button. I wi...
Anyone compare outlets?
My brother works on commercial job sites. At the site he is working, they are using 20 amp Hubbel outlets; he is able to bring two home for me. Is there any numbers, etc., I should look for to verify they are what I want?He did say they said CR-20...
Opinion on Mcintosh preamps C-38,C-40, C-42.
I owned the C42 for a VERY short time. Unfortunately I was in between systems so I cannot give any opinions on it's performance in detail.I submitted a question to Mac about a C38 vs. C42, as I had come across a C38 used prior to the C42. The resp...
Mac 352 v s550e Threshold amp
Thanks for the follow up. Did one have a deeper bass than the other?I read in the TAS review of the Pass X250, that the bass wasn't as low as a Krell, few are, but was amongst the best.
XM Digital Satellite Radio- What's the scoop?
BumpI wanted to bump this topic back up top as it's been a few months and as we all know, digital changes by the hour and maybe more people have had experience with it now.Has anyone been able to compare a digital radio receiver to a good FM tuner?

BMG Music Club - new twist
I am a member as well and have read posts before as to the concern about quality. Unless there are some exceptions, all the CD's I have gotten are excellent and I wouldn't be concerned otherwise.

Stephan Sank would be another to consult, he has done much work on Mac's, among many others.http://stephensank.combk11@thuntek.net
Dented Tweeter?
I second, or third, using tape, worked perfectly for me.
What to place under speaker spikes on hardwood
Linn makes "skeets" that are designed for this. Thet are heavy round discs with holes in the center for the spikes. (I do not know what they are made of, but they are somewhat heavy for their size.)I use them and have no trouble sliding my speaker...

Killerpiglet, here is a link to an example of what I was talking of, just for reference.http://www.jpslabs.com/powercord.html#paciw
Mark Levinson No.383 How good is it ?
I owned the 383 for a year and enjoyed it the whole time. I got caught up in reading about audio and convinced myself I needed a change. The 383 is an absolute joy to use, excellent design; it is a great performer as well. I found it very musical a...
Anyone compare outlets?
Another thought Killerpiglet, as long as you are getting new lines put in, some cable companies have wiring you can purchase, instead of the cheapo stuff the electician is installing. I would do this if I was wiring anew again.
Best 20 bucks I've spent yet
I looked in Menards (like a Home Depot) for some outlets, but I had no idea what to look for. I could find standard, heavy duty and premium outlets, but how do I know what "hospital grade" is? Also, what amp?
