tuner mugs I am sure there are others I am unaware of, but the Pioneer TX-9100 looks very nice.
Meridian 502/557 pre/power I had this combo, but with different speakers; the 557 is a great amp, the 502, IMO, is ok, if you are not paying a lot for the pre at least you know you will have synergy with the amp, use balanced IC's between the two.
What was your first system, & did you like it? My first system depends an what a "system" is. Back in the very late 70's I asked for, and received, at Christmas a "system" that had a Tuner/Cassette/Phono, and yes, 8 track, all in one with separate speakers. As for a "real" system, I was a fool...
Comments on Fanfare FM-2G - FM Antenna I am using the antenna as well, but I never really compared it with anything, I started with it; I would be curious to compare it to some cheaper alternatives. I asked the guy that installed my dish, I have known him for years, and he had a Winega...
Rediscovering the Joy of Digital? I don't think you need to throw the baby out with the bath water. Buy CD's as new media and enjoy your digital, if you find you are not using your analog gear over time, sell it.Different strokes for different folks, I never liked using LP's regul...
Jazz recommendations for a beginner? A couple things, there are different styles of Jazz and though you may find you like some in each category, you may prefer one style over another. There are some that may try and make you feel guilty for liking Diana Krall, I too enjoy her music a...
B&W Nautilus 803 & Musical Fidelity A3 In re-reading my last post, I want to make it clear that the N803's are far better of the two, but my point was that the M3's have the greater soundfield.
Do you own the last amp you'll ever buy? I hope so, at least for many years.
Buggtussel Cingulates or B&W 805's or Proac? I haven't heard the speakers you list, but having heard others from each line, I would look at ProAc first.
Buggtussel Solitarious vs Amygdala I disagree with Bombay a bit, I have had the Amygdala's in my house and my concensus has always been that it is a good rock speaker, look for my previous replies, but I think others are more refined.
Buggtussel Cingulates or B&W 805's or Proac? What is your price range and what kind of music do you listen to?"
B&W Nautilus 803 & Musical Fidelity A3 I wanted to follow up to my response in light of some recent responses. As I said in my first reply, I believe the A3 is underpowered for the N803's; as CDC says above, start with at least 150 watts, this makes quite an improvement in the N803'S. ...
B&W Nautilus 803 & Musical Fidelity A3 I believe it is the N803's, I just swapped them out and I am temporarily using Mirage M3's and the soundstage is much greater as well as separation. Until this swap, I would not have understood what you meant by 'jammed', but I believe I do now.BT...
Marantz Thanks Travis for the follow up.
B & W Nautilus Why wouldn't the EMC be a good CDP for Nautilus speakers? This one stumps me. I used one with N803's w/o problems. |
