VPI Platter Spinning SLOWLY
You do not need to lube the shaft, the bearing inserts are made out of self lubricating material.
VPI Platter Spinning SLOWLY
How much grease are you using? You should be using a very small dab on top of the ball bearing only. Too much grease with an inverted bearing with a tight tolerance may cause it to bind.
Where exactly do I add oil to VPI classic motor
That sounds about the right size and there should be three grub screws. You are right that it is not necessary to remove the pulley to lubricate the motor, but you made it sound that by doing so you are upsetting the balance of a Swiss watch. I kn...
Where exactly do I add oil to VPI classic motor
Again, I can't speak to specifically to the Classic, but most VPI pulley's are either pressure fitted (older tables) or held in place with a grub screw (newer tables) which requires an allen key to loosen and adjust. Nothing complicated about remo...

Where exactly do I add oil to VPI classic motor
The pulley sits on top of the brass collar, correct? Why do you need to take off the pulley to get under the brass collar? I have a VPI rim drive and I just pull up on the pulley to expose the motor shaft just below the brass collar and apply a d...

Do you twist the Valhala wire to adjust for anti-skating?
HI, VPI Classic 4 is it a great upgrade from 1
The first question you need to ask yourself is whether or not you need a table capable of having two separate tonearms. If not, go for the Classic 3 which is a substantial upgrade from the Classic 1.
Which alcohol to use?
I am not sure but pure grain alcohol is not available for sale in most states, especially the 190 proof. I would hazard a guess that it is much more expensive than isopropyl. Due a search on record cleaning fluid recipes.
ARC Ref150 or Aesthetix Atlas with Vandersteen 5A
I would wait and live with the Vand 5A for a while until you develop a feel for what is "lacking" in your current set up. BTW, great speaker.
What do audiophiles listen in their cars?
Personally, I don’t give car audio upgrade much though as my car stereo system is integrated with my navigation, phone, voice command activation etc. The only time I give car audio any thought is when buying a new car.
