Could this be one reason tubes (and perhaps records) sound better? Lose the vinyl and the CDs and listen to reel to reel tape. It’s all you need.
Could this be one reason tubes (and perhaps records) sound better? We need to come up with agreed to standards, benchmarks, yardsticks. Not measurements only, but points of reference that we can agree on. Then we can explore together and come back with real improvements.
Vinyl / Digital / and can you have too much information. I tend to agree with the original poster. I think quite often it’s not that things aremore optimized for human listening, but are more easily reproduced by all the electronics and physical interactions involved. I am Looking for That Elusive 3 Dimensional Room Filling Soundstage And surround sound setups are nowhere near as good as reproducing well the 3D imaging information already available in good stereo recordings. Sooooo much more satisfying! Honestly once you get that ‘surround’ from stereo you’ll never look back. D...
I am Looking for That Elusive 3 Dimensional Room Filling Soundstage You can get excellent 3D sound without major room treatments. A thick throw rug (even over existing carpeting) and a dense fabric covered couch and you should be good. If you want that holographic sound you need to not be afraid of some wall and c...
I am Looking for That Elusive 3 Dimensional Room Filling Soundstage ...and don’t chase 5.1. Good stereo is much better, once you get that holographic setup working. Feel free to message me.
I am Looking for That Elusive 3 Dimensional Room Filling Soundstage ...and take time finding the right room placement. Serious. All you need for seriously holographic presentation.

Why do YOU love Vinyl/or hate vinyl I love the warmth, spatial quality and ‘syrupy contours’ that come with vinyl. I also love the quiet, clean, predictable, ease-of-playback that digital provides.Wanting the best of both worlds I decided to give reel-to-reel tape a try. Wow!Sibilan...
High value, giant killer speakers? ...all these amazing and rather consistent suggestions are making me want to rethink my solution to this problem.Has anyone tries a pair of properly powered Infinity Kappa 7’s or 8’s? How do they compare to the many suggestions here?
High value, giant killer speakers? @douglas_schroederAbsolutely every other poster here has been supportive and encouraging. Does it feel good to poop in the punch bowl? Funny that you are the first to mention ‘ego’. I wonder why that is?
Spectron Audio Out Of Business? @georgehifi their site has been up for several years. No one there answers emails or phone calls and this has been verified by several people here.do you know someone there George?
High value, giant killer speakers? Infinity Kappa 7’s and 8’s if you drive them properly. They can be had from $500 to $2,000. Can easily play with $3,000 to $5,000 speakers. Don’t believe those that say there are no giant killers, there are plenty.
What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load A Carver Signature Sunfire 600 should do the trick. That amp is so powerful it’ll get good sound from a cinder block. If you get one Bill Flannery has up-kept there will be no heterodyning.
