what's a good fm tuner?
Another vote for Magnum Dynalb.I have the entry-level tuner; however, it's fed signals from a seven-element yagi.   For distant signals, I use their Signal Sleuth to increase RF gain. I use Belden RG-6 cable from the yagi to the tuner (or the Sign...
Your reference for "the absolute" sound?
The best sound I've heard, and use as a reference, were the live concerts I managed to attend over the years by the VPO in  the Vienna Musikverein.  Wonderful orchestra with magnificent strings,  superb venue.
most realistic sound from a stand mount Loudspeaker active or passive
I like the Bryston Mini T speakers. I auditioned the passive ones. (They come in both varieties)

andy2Nah! Not along that portion of the river bank. If you like diamondbacks, copperheads, centipedes, scorpions and tarantulas, go to Canyon De Chelly and visit  the Northern canyon (Canyon Del Muerte.)   Lotsa' fun!( I grew up in Arizona )

prof and I had a couple of discussions on the 3.7 vs 2.7 Thiels. I was able to audition both speakers over a couple of weeks at the dealer's, using my collection of classical and organ CDs.   I settled for the 2.7s, plus a SS2.2 sub,   Close conte...
Who makes budget speaker cables which are truly “good” or “exceptional” in quality?
I've been very happy with Blue Jeans Cable  interconnects and speaker cables.  Their speaker cables are made from quality Belden 12 ga and 10 ga stock, with welded terminals (Spade, locking banana, etc,)Speaker cables are cut to the exact length y...
