The Thor TPA 150 Monoblocks are incredible
How about telling us about your system and where you auditioned them or from where borrowed them, so we can put your comments in some kind of context? Are you a dealer or associated with one, as your moniker tends to suggest? Interesting...
Lazarus hybrid amps...anyone hear them?
I have a pair of h1a's which I plan to sell simply because I no longer use them. They are robust, dynamic and musical. A friend knows them pretty well, having tweaked a pair for a mutual friend some years ago and owning one himself.
Are internet sales taking business or not?
Please see my thoughts here.Brian
Interconnects:Dazed and Confused
Unsound, I apologize if my post offended you and anyone else. As others expressed, I did not mention any products I sell, nor was the purpose of my post to promote them. You and others are of course free to do as you wish - buy new, used, or DIY. ...
Interconnects:Dazed and Confused
Home trial is extremely important as many have pointed out, and knowing what works well together is, too. It is too easy for people to buy stuff online without ever listening to it first, and to make purchasing decisions based upon reviews and pri...
Recomendation for speakers BEST for Piano?
Gullahisland points out that there are many overtones resonating when a piano is played. To discern the sonic character and personality of the instrument, the timing has to be dead on and the speaker has to recreate the reverberant sound field to ...
Cables for Tenor/Kharma/Capitole MKI
I'm rather amused with this thread, as some of the participants are posting almost as though their lives depended upon their being right. I haven't heard all of the speakers and cables mentioned, but let's just say my Sound Labs aren't going anywh...
Info for Monoblock VAC Amp
Goone, I would recommend that you contact Kevin Hayes at VAC for information. He's a great guy, very knowledgeable and no nonsense.http://www.vac-amps.com/contact.htmBrian Walsh
OT: CES January 2004
You're welcome! THE Show is completely unrelated to the Stereophile shows, which are oriented to the consumer. If you can attend THE Show, and presumably CES, maybe you should, recognizing these events are targeted mainly for people in the busines...
Wadia 860X vs. 861
You might pose the question to Steve Huntley of Great Northern Sound, who is intimately familiar with them...
OT: CES January 2004
THE Show is open to people in the trade and to the public. It is completely independent from CES.http://www.the-expo.netThe CES is open to the trade only, however, some people get creative.http://www.ces-web.orgBrian
ESL enclosures
Slappy, full range ESLs that extend well below 40 Hz with authority are available. You could use the technology behind them for your own use at the least. Dr. Roger West of Sound Lab has a patent on the distributed bass resonance principle employe...
OT: CES January 2004
THE Show will be at two venues, the San Remo and the San Tropez. The latter is next to the Alexis Park, venue of the CES high end audio exhibits.Brian
