Tube Amp for Devore O/96
I’ve had two friends achieve great results with their O/96 using Jadis JA30MKII. I’m fairly certain optimal results were achieved with the internal straps set for high impedance delivery.
70's Receiver and/or Integrated Amp recommendations
I've been scanning my local area and have found the following items within a 100 mile radius. Still browsing...  Marantz 1060  Marantz 2226B NAD 7240PE Kenwood KA-7100 Sansui 2000x Kenwood KA-7150 Marantz 2275 (but he's asking $800) Of these a...

Best Examples Of Cymbal Decays On A Recording
John Hiatt’s Slow Turning has the original version of “Feels Like Rain” which has some amazing cymbal attack, sustain & decay that I adore. Even as the last inside track on vinyl side two, most pressings I’ve heard have the magic 👍
Need advice for a replacement phono cartridge
There’s been some very good suggestions with regards to retippers & keeping your Transfiguration in in rotation. As far as replacement, which most likely has already been accomplished since this thread is 2 months old, I’d recommend the Mutec...
What is the “World’s Best Cartridge”?
@rauliruegas - You make many valid points about subjective & objective balance for a “World’s Best” title 👍 As for as FR is concerned, such objectivity might exclude technologies that cannot properly decode eq.
VPI VTA Base question
@markpao , excellent cartridge 👍 Sorry to be redundant but the best way to know if you have the correct base is to measure/confirm the actual Pivot of the tonearm (not it’s offset mount) is 258mm from center of platter Spindle. Since you’ve meas...
re-wire a music hall tonearm?
Yes, those Pro-Ject based tonearm wires are extremely fragile. BritAudio.com’s Michael Wharton is a good source for having it done or getting rewire kits unless you’ve an advanced DIYer.
What are some high impedance cartridges?
The upper end Clearaudio & Kiseki pickups are relatively high @ 40 ~ 50 ohms.
Transimpedance phono stage
Gene Rubin also deals with the more expensive Little Loco whose internal linear power supply is able to put more meat-on-the-bone sonically as compared to the 48V outboard switched mode supply of the TZ Vibe. As pointed out, lower impedance LOMC ...
What is the “World’s Best Cartridge”?
Forgive me for being late to the party but such a topic is too enticing to ignore! It’s very interesting reading about new components & people’s experiences with them. Field coil pickups especially - so many ways down our rabbit hole. I woul...
Voltage mode vs current mode phono stages
@lewm  I am curious about what happens when you mate a Sussuro, for example, with a current driven phono stage. This post from a recent Little Loco thread may shed some light: I ended up with a Soundsmith Sussurro cartridge, but the Low Z (L...
Does anyone have any experience with a Sutherland Little Loco?

DL103R pros: Very easy to set up with it’s forgiving conical stylus. A musical presentation that exudes the flow of music while displaying density of tone and smoothness. DL103R cons; Conical stylus prone to quick wear. Once worn, sibilance is ...

@elliottbnewcombjr is spot on with the AT33PTG/II 👍 If your system is well balanced then the time spent on a good setup will be most enjoyable with this affordable jewel.
