Covers for racks to keep dust off?
I can get away with a plastic sheet that covers my whole double-wide rack because my system is in a basement man cave, so looks are not important.  Cheep and effective.
A Tale for Your Bemusement
FWIW, there have been many times that software updates to a few of my audio components have seemed to cause problems.  The natural thing to do is reboot.  What's funny is that very often, 2 or 3 reboots are necessary before the problems correct th...
Throw it out!
Can this method be applied to an annoying wife?
Handling Heavy Amps
I have dealt with sciatica for around 9 years. I was using a 65lb. amp from Odyssey Audio, the Stratos 3 channel model (my rig is combo 2-channel and home theater). When it needed repairs, I lugged it to a UPS store for packing and shipping. It wa...
Are there other people like me ? Amazed by their low cost system :)
So, I love my curated, a.k.a. hodgepodge system. It’s not expensive by high end standards, but I love listening to all genres on it. It’s far from perfect.  I get to hear a lot of high dollar systems through my local audio club, and rarely do I fe...
Paypal drastic changes
This is what happens when Big Governments start to run out of money.  The result is usually a thriving black market where the government gets a big fat goose egg.  Ask anyone in Russia, Greece, or many other places.  The next step is a cashless ec...
Stepping into streaming, finally
@romanesq  So what's the difference between the Finisar you are using and something like this:   https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/dxe-iso-plus-2#overview For someone like me who is not tech savvy, the DX Engineering looks like an easier fix,...
How important is the efficiency of a speaker to you?
Dig deep? My Arion Audio S500 amp was priced at $2500 when I got it a few years ago. It packs 500 watts per channel and sound great. My inefficient speakers soak up those watts and sound wonderful to my ears.
Crackle and hiss on some albums
@fuzztone ...+1 on the Sugarcube by Sweet Vinyl.  I have been happily turning sows asses into silk purses with my SC-2 since I got a beta unit when it was crowd funded in 2016. Of course, I still use my vacuum record cleaning machine, the cheep an...
Transparent Audio is anything but Transparent
@audio_is_subjective +1, except for your gratuitous use of apostrophe's 😉

So, if I read the description of the Staccato correctly, it is 100% Bluetooth.  I don't doubt what the OP says he hears, but that's something if BT outperforms Wifi, especially at this modest price.
Qobuz hell
I have no trouble with Qobuz via my Android phone, Small Green Computer Sonic Orbiter and Sonare Ultra Rendu.  Used in conjunction with Roon.
question of soundstage
Maybe try some tube rolling?  When I rolled from OEM tubes on my McIntosh C220 pre to Mullard reissues, my sound stage did widen a bit.
Humminguru record cleaner
Great thread!  I currently use a cheap and cheerful KAB record cleaner with a canister vacuum attached.  I have been eyeing the Humminguru, as I like the principal of US cleaning, and the all-in-one automated aspect, especially the drying feature....
Is My McIntosh C52 Pre-amp The Weak Link?
IMHO, keep the Mac, but upgrade the DAC.
