How can a 30 watt, 28 year old amp sound more Point taken Ddd1... I am not mentioning brands for the 120 watt amp and Pre as I may be selling them and would rather not give the impression that they are not great pieces.I was only looking for input from the more "technical" folks as to what co...

From now on it's listen and decide, forget the specs :-)I would rather not mention the brands of the pre and amp the NAD replaced as both are very very highly regarded and do sound grea...

Sound Anchor Blue Dots or BluTack?? 2013 Update:I have now had the opportunity to try many speakers on different speaker stands using all 3. I recently did a direct comparison of Blue-Tack v/s Herbies Fat Dots (One speaker on Blue-Tack the other on Herbies) using the balance control...

Speaker footers – Ugh used Soler Points from member esoler on many speakers and speaker stands with terrific results. They "drain" energy very effectively. Expect to feel like the bass goes missing at first only to realize later that only "bloat" is missing while bass ...
Audiophile Addiction My time in the man cave is my "meditation" time. Without it on a regular basis my stress level shoots way up! Properly de-stressed I can spend time with the family :-)The hardware tweaking is fun but ultimately must be in the service of music. My ...
Sound Anchor Blue Dots or BluTack?? Rbrowne: since your experience was with Sound Anchor Stands and all three (blue dots, blu tack and Herbies) and you liked the Herbies, what was their effect compared to the blue dots?I replaced the spikes on my sound anchors recently with the exce...

Salk Songbirds or Totem Arros for bedroom system? Have not heard the Arros, but I had a pair of Salk's Songbirds that sounded wonderful, except I felt they are voiced for tubes, they sounded a tad "thin" in the mid bass despite the fact that I drove them with a warmish McCormack DNA 0.5 Deluxe Ed...
Can anyone rate the salk songtower qwt speakers? I asked Jim about the ribbon tweeters, he said it would be worth while if you like classical only, where you can say hear a long decay with a triangle etc...But for all sorts of music, the std tweeter is plenty good. I don't use the grills but yes... |
