Subwoofer slam vs boom
Marty if you're after slam & dynamics without the boom; check out Tom Danley's ServoDrive ... the contrabass are killer!http://www.servodrive.com/http://www.mindspring.com/~sdinc/pages/contra.html
Anyone have 'stereo blend' control experience?
I guess that Zaik wants to blend the entire freq. spectrum at variable ratio's, not just hi-blend & not pure mono, but somewhere in-between & adjustable. A L/R analog mixer would be needed with control of the amount of L signal emerging fr...
Cleaning vinyl - am I using this thing right???
as a satisfied user of Zerostat I take exception to the statement that "it does nothing". These are great little gizmo's & I wouldn't even sell mine for twice what I paid for it >25 years ago; it still works wonders.
Quiet cooling fans for audiogear
no - the cooler air is simply spread out over a larger area
300B tube ringing
there is a way that you can take care of this, and permanently, but you're probably not gonna like it.Go for some quality solid state equipment.Told ya you wouldn't like it, but there it is.
Audiogoners Anonymous?
busted again!I don't have any answers for this dilemma but I can certainly relate to many of the above scenario's.However I do know enough to at least clean out my Cookies, Temp. & History files; come on guys you're slipping!I do concur that h...
Anyone have 'stereo blend' control experience?
Hi ZaikStereo blend is commonplace in radio reception even today; basically the high frequencies are progressively blended as signal to noise ratio deteriorates. This is easily accomplished via the switching of progressively larger sizes of audio ...
Corporate Interests out to KILL Analog FM
this is another consumer outrage: corporate greed running rampant over the taxpayer-owners of the public frequency spectrum. They are all in the pockets of the legislature, trying to profit further at our expense. There is still *some* good radio ...
Quiet cooling fans for audiogear
Bob the reasoning is so as to not introduce thermal stress points due to larger temperature differentials across a small heat-sinked area. Cold air blowing directly onto component causes a much larger thermal stress differential over a smaller are...

Help Total Confusion
I have read that if you must do this, keep the rack lower-profile vs. taller. No experience with this myself, but from those who have tried it that's the advice given. YMMV
Quiet cooling fans for audiogear
a Variac can be used to reduce AC input voltage & slow down most muffin fans to acceptable low-noise levels.Be sure to draw heat away from the component - don't blow cold air onto it.
Synergistic Res. PC's, UpgradeI to X series?
if you haven't yet had the pleasure - you would not believe the differences that changing the AC cord supplying power to the Master Control Center can achieve. Of course the DR2 remains the better (and most expensive) solution.

Yo Larry - glad that you liked the Wattgate; sure made a believer out of me!I haven't tried a LOT of different outlets, but I have used the Hubbel as mentioned & then an industrial grade Leviton. When I noticed that the Wattgate is also made b...
Which cone's or platforms have helped?
I now have a review to write on these Nordost titanium Pulsar Points; they better even the Orchard Bay titanium's. With my equipment warmed up I am now amazed; I will of course follow up with that info. here. The quality of this product is subtle i...
