Silver vs. Cooper speakers cables Obviously I misread the initial post. Choose between Gary Cooper and Ron Silber? Puhleeeeeeeze!
new at this...which amp? Can you tell how excited everyone here is for you? No kidding. For probably less than half of your $2500 budget, you will have a quality of sound that will assuredly exceed the goal you had at the time of your initial post. Very cool!
How Long Did it Take to Burn In a new piece? Soliloquy speakers....months...and months...and months....and finally....bliss.
Silver vs. Cooper speakers cables In the interest of full disclosure, I am the president of the Cable Club for Men. For those of you concerned about embarrassing signal loss, I recommend applying pheromone contact treatment on your banana plug terminations, whether you're running ...
Silver vs. Cooper speakers cables That is so good to hear, Rsbeck, because since beginning to lose my hair, the music does indeed sound much more organic, just as you describe. Coincidentally, the steady growth of my back hair has also obviated the need for rear room treatments. W...
Silver vs. Cooper speakers cables After having read through and/or participated in a number of cable threads, I've come to the conclusion that the moderator should retitle them all as "how should I do my hair?" Because no one can tell you definitively, and invariably the responden...
new at this...which amp? The Denon 3910 is an excellent universal player, but in stock form it does have a house sound. You may like that sound and you may not. If you are planning on upgrading the source, lay out some of your parameters (type of music you listen to, the ...
new at this...which amp? 1) The room2) The source3) The interconnectsI would address all three. You don't need to better amplify what is already compromised source material. If the system has sounded harsh in three different rooms, I'd still begin by treating the room. Wi...
What can you tell me about First Sound pre-amps? Art, is this after having spent some time with the deHavilland? Try a little b-b-q sauce on that crow. I hear it goes down easier that way.
A classy tribute to the Bird Thanks for the correction, Duke. Sorry, I meant THE Duke.

About Lugnut -- Patrick Malone Pat,If you have concern that your post is difficult to track, don't. You're coming in loud and clear, in fact more so than ever.Lots of love to you and your family, friend.Howard
Speaker Choice for Pathos Classic One Probably not the answer your looking for, but I've heard that amp with a couple different speakers as well, and my conclusion was that the amp itself sounded dry. I've not found that to be the case with the Vandersteen 2CE, so my guess is that wha...
Lugnut needs your advice on small speakers Oh, and definitely listen to the Triangle's if you can. I found them to be rather bright/thin across the model line. Jond's suggestion of Soliloquy is also excellent, IMO. He could want a sub, but they will handle the mids/highs quite proficiently.
Lugnut needs your advice on small speakers Pat,Given the variables (SET amps, analog, budget) he might consider a pair of Klipsch Forte's. Might even be able to forgo the need for a sub as well.Enjoy your trip to Portland.Howard |
