Widescreen Premium a Rip-Off?? I have never looked back after switching to my Toshiba 40" widescreen. I find my movie viewing to be more important than my tv viewing, by far. Don't talk yourself out of it, 16X9 is wonderful. You will forget all about 4X3 watching in about an ho...
Do the Audio gods shine upon you? All these large capital letters are hurting my eyes.
Cheap SACD Player or wait for DVD Audio? Simontju, thanks for the kind words. I will probably get a 9000ES in a month or two. If I do, I will take it to my friends house with very high end system and compare it to the DCS upsampling gear. Keep us posted on any further developments regard...
Do the Audio gods shine upon you? My voltage shifts between 119 and 124. The sound shifts as well. Larryh makes a good point. Some days your ears are tired and other days are wide awake and ready to rock. Ther are certainly other factors, but it is noticed that wine doesn't taste ...
anyone heard sony s9000es Ymarttinjr, there is certainly one better DVD player, The Camelot Roundtable, but the 9000ES seems to be the best all around value, considering the SACD aspect.
Horrific Confession and Question I agree with Cwlondon and Cornfedboy about lack of truth in marketing. As to your question: I have some friends who are very successful in business. One is an entreprenuer, one a screenwriter/producer, one a consultant/farmer. I have known them fo...
Cheap SACD Player or wait for DVD Audio? Joe, I too would welcome a "high end " manufacturers SACD product, but have you sat down and listed to a SACD player on a decent system for an hour or so yet? When I did, the SACD quality made me wish all my favorite recordings were available in t...
Horrific Confession and Question As to the "mystery" of why sound can be so inviting in a public environment (Tower?). It reminds me of the feeling of anticipation I get when approaching the doors of a concert hall and hearing the sound check, or musicians tuning, there is a litt...
Horrific Confession and Question When listening to radio, mostly as background, I prefer the "5 channel stereo" mode of my Denon AVR-5700. Although accurate imaging is lost I get a more pleasing ambience. This helps me to concentrate on something other than the sound of my stereo...
Cheap SACD Player or wait for DVD Audio? Thanks Simontju, for taking the time to post such a thorough response. I will certainly think more seriously about the 9000ES now, I just need a little time to recover from the post holiday cash flow shortage! Does anyone have an opinion on how im...
Cheap SACD Player or wait for DVD Audio? Simontju, I am not so clear about your post, is the CD aspect of the 9000ES better than the 777ES even with the 50kHz filter on? Have you been able to turn off the filter yet? I am very interested in the cd playing aspect of the 9000ES. I use my D...
send the electrician !!! I have not heard the Coincident's, and I use Harmonic Tech Truthlink and Magic interconnects, with the only exception being my subwoofer cable (DH Labs BLII). It works well in a 4 meter length, and might serve you well, if you need to keep cost do...
SF GP VS Vienna Mozart VS Tempo III JB, when I have heard the GP's they seemed quite bright, but sure looked well made.
Horrific Confession and Question Try the Gallo speakers. Small size, BIG sound, less money, more style!!
SF GP VS Vienna Mozart VS Tempo III Audio Physic is much better in my opinion. The best soundstage at the price range. The Vienna is an attractive design, but a rather dull speaker. I have heard both at least 10 times. |
