Best value for the buck speaker cables Anyone know where to get these caps in NYC?
Cardas Cap Panic Buying I don't think so. On occasion I have paid a little more than necessary for an item to simply be done with it and on to the next project, not having to shop around any further.
Absolute Best DVD Player? My pleasure Charles. My Pioneer DV-37 is sweet, if not the absolute best on the planet, (killer cd playback) ,w/progressive scan. Should outgun the DV-09.
Absolute Best DVD Player? Treed is correct. Like he said: Read this. http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_7_4/dvd-benchmark-progressive-shootout-12-2000.html
Transparent Cables - Worth the money? Hi Jim, I didn't think Keriadums post presented any conflict of interest, he seemed to offer good advice based on his experience, and I didn't notice him trying to sell anything. Why discourage someone with a lot of audio experience from posting j...
Which is better: separates or receiver? Kt, and jerie make good points. If you max out your budget and get used gear you can get a good seperates system, but if you also think about getting a near top of the line receiver like the Denon AVR5700second hand as wel,l you can have almost ev...
Which is better: separates or receiver? At that price a big Denon receiver is excellent, or B&K, then Integra. My Denon AVR-5700 has given me great service and is only topped by components costing twice as much. It also depends on your speakers and room size.
Speaker Cable Length When I changed my 8' Harmonic Technology Pro-9 plus bi-wires to 12' there was not a noticeable difference. Perhaps a little less bass focus, but then I re-dialed my sub in, and there was no longer any difference whatsoever.
Which Cables for Sony DVP-9000ES XLO sent me a break in disc which seems to have everything you might want for break in, sweeps, test tone, phase check, system burn in, super dynamic reference tracks in HDCD. etc.
Transparent Cables - Worth the money? I have a Transparent power cord on loan at the moment, and although I don't have any experience with their cables, I can say their power cord is excellent and would expect nothing less from their cables . Hope thathelps a little. Good luck.
Salamander Synergy Rack Experiences? You can fill the aluminum supports if you want, but that should only be done if your shelves won't need moving soon. My Synergy rack works fine with the chrome feet. One of the shelves comes with a base for extra support. I put my amp on it. I bou...
Guilty Pleasures Jctubes, Try track 13 on "Mule Variations", that song can stir the coldest heart . I certainly can understand calling Tom Waits an aquired taste, but not in "the least". Any songwriter knows that his writing can be stunning, even if his personal i...
Guilty Pleasures Sometimes I like the Stones "trippy" stuff, like , "She's a Rainbow", "Child of the Moon", "Dandelion", "Cool Calm Collected", "2000 Light Years From Home", Mother's Little Helper", "Play With Fire", and my favorite "Ruby Tuesday". Also, anything ...
Smooth, Warm Digital Cable? Audition the Ensemble "Digiflux" at The Cable Company. (fatwyre@fatwyre.com) Costs only $99, discounted from $250. I tried 4 digital cables and it was the most "liquid" of all. |
