Why Expensive power Cables when Romex behind Wall?
BECAUSE there is a low grade cable behind your outlet and because it works. You don't question why a water filter works after your tap water travels 100 miles through some nasty pipe, it is similar with good power cords although not exactly analag...
Nautilus owners upgrade to what?
I own the 805's and LM1's, have heard the n804, 803,802,801 and the 800's.The 800's are one of the elite group of great speakers. That said, if I went shopping with a big budget, I'd pop for the Avalon Eidelon's. Both brands convey the emotion of ...
Collective letter s to Stereophile
Hi Jeff, I have been thinking about the "impartiality" of A/V website participants you mentioned in your post, and lately and I am beginning to think that it is an illusion. A reviewer sees so much equipment that I believe they are not as impressi...
superbit DVD worth to buy another copy??
If you have a decent TV, projector it does make a discernable difference. Everything is a little sharper and clearer, less bloom on colors and just an easier picture to watch for two hours. Depends upon how much you enjoy re-watching a movie doesn...
Please explain Mulholland drive?
I'll buy the DVD soon, so I don't feel like renting it again to try and figure out who the Dwarf is. Joe, can you help me here please? I thought the Cowboy was the messenger for the old studio guy behind the glass.
Regrets
Duane Allman's Marshall 100 amplifier. (I'm not kidding). That amp had the classic late 60's Allman, Hendrix , Clapton sound, but was too powerful for the clubs I was working in at the time. The ability to attenuate was not perfected then, so I bo...

superbit? What is it?
Hello Pete. Superbit DVD's are transferred at a higher data rate, squeezing the last drop of resolution from the "standard" DVD format. I have bought many (of the few) Superbit DVD's available and they DO offer clear improvements in video quality....
Do power cords really matter?
Tburn, you don't have much to lose by tryng a few different brands. There are some very good quality pc's around here at Audiogon at very reasonable prices which can easily be sold if not to your liking. You stand to gain an improved listening exp...
Best sounding CD player for 6,000.
The new Musical Fidelity nu-vistor (I forget the model #) is the most involving CD player I have yet heard, and that includes the Marantz top of the line, all of Sony's SACD players, Ayre, Forsell Air Transport and many others. Haven't heard some ...
Any scientific data on cable burn-in?

Power Cords: Acoustic Zen vs Dave Elrod.Your View?
My Acoustic Zen Tsunami was like giving my CD player steroids, so I suspect that the Krakatoa is smokin' (if you'll pardon the pun!)
Burning in my Sony DVP-S9000ES -- best approach
Yes, it must be connected. SACD break in IS seperate. I ran mine about 16-18 hrs. a day to break in. Some prefer to keep it on 24/7. It will not be complete until say.. 500 hours, but should sound good at 190 hours or so. Don't believe those who s...
New Denon DVD players
Haven't seen one yet, but for some reason Denon never seems to be as good in the video department as they are in audio. None of their DVD players has ever been best in their class. Don't get me wrong, I hope Denon comes out with a giant killer.
