Cardas Caps Worthwhile? Clean Tours? Unintended antonym!
Cardas Caps Worthwhile? Thanks Dekay, I hadn't thought of cleaning tubes since I don't have any at the moment, but my friend just moved and his tubes for his VAV amp desperately need cleaning. How do you clean tours? Should I clean them the same way as the tips of an int...
Cardas Caps Worthwhile? When I take off two caps and insert a new component it is still nice to know that there is no extra dust and grime build up inside. Since my rack is 2 feet from a window in NYC I have come to appreciate anything that I don't have to dust or polish...
Bi Wire cables for B W 805N I also run my 805's full range, with a REL strata III sub, and am very happy with my Harmonic Technology Pro9 Plus bi-wire cables. Their is enough controversy and plenty of hype in the cable business, but the overwhelmingly positive reviews (Stere...
Cardas Caps Worthwhile? Hi Dekay, maybe you should buy one set at a time as I did. I only need one more to be complete. It is nice to know that no gunk can get in those rca connections, and the slight hum I still have in my system was reduced about 50%, so I considered t...
Sony 777es ok to leave on? Dekay, it doesn't get hot, but it is definetely quite warm. Mostly at the backside, and only a little bit at the front. In my rack I have about 11/2" clearance on top, and about 1" at the bottom. Not a lot of room, but not packed in tight either. ...
Sony 777es ok to leave on? I notice an improvement after leaving my 9000ES on for 16 hours or more, so now I will try keeping it on for longer periods of time. Thanks. I'm still a little bit concerned about any problems developing over the long term because of the heat gene...
Cardas Caps Worthwhile? Mine lowered the volume of a slight buzz in my system, but didn't completely get rid of it. It does buy peace of mind however, knowing that a hum is not due to open rca jacks is helpful.
Priorities, who makes the rules anyway? Kitch29 makes a good point, but I never needed a car for that purpose, Viva New York City!
Priorities, who makes the rules anyway? I'm with you JT. The Animals had it right,"I'm just a soul who's intentions are good, oh lord, please don't let me be misunderstood". The looks I get when buying yet another piece of "unnecessary" equipment are not easily forgotten. Funny though, ...
Best professional TEST CD? Try XLO's Test & Burn-In CD, it has everything you probably need. Sweeps, reference recordings, etc. I think you can get it directly from XLO. I found this disc better overall when compared to the Stereophile disc, which I used for a long time.
DVD Recommendations 500.00 new or used I have owned about 8 or 9 different DVD players,(I'm losing count) including the Sony-7700, and the Pioneer DV-37. If you offered me the choice between the two at the same price, I would take the Pioneer. The audio section is way smoother, video i...
Help Design The DVD Player You Want JT, Maybe I could add a 1000 CD track memory, so that I don't have to program out the tracks I can't stand. I once had a Sony CD player that had a 185 disc track memory. It worked beautifully, push the track numbers in order, press memory, and tha...
Best Projector/DVD combination Flavio, The new Denon DVD player (2800?) uses the DVDO chip, and can be had for under $700, but I would go with the Sony 9000ES as I did, unless you have, or plan to get a projector soon. The 9000ES has a gorgeous filmlike picture on my Toshiba HD...
Are Sony SACD Machine Owners Crazy?? Jshrimp, anyone, what about the Sony 9000ES? |
