Which came first, the chicken or the egg
Kt, any word if that Lexicon will have an analogue direct function, allowing my SACD players analogue outs a straight path, without further digital processing?
New category for trades?
Hi everyone, thanks for all the input and ideas. It seems that there is an overwhelming consensus this could be worth trying. I'll wait a day or so, and see if Audiogon responds, otherwise I'll try emailing them direct. It's getting hot here in NY...

Hi Angela, best regards. I'm enjoying my Sony DVP-9000ES very much, but my TV keeps shutting of for days, and when the serviceman comes ...voila! it works again, happened twice. I'll find that bug and squash it sooner or later. Gotta run, Sounds,g...
New category for trades?
Ucmgr, you make a good point about most people wanting to trade up, but there are many scenarios where trading can be a better option. Sample situation: AG member wants to upgrade his (or her) pre-pro, but will get only $1100. for it, and it cost ...
New category for trades?
Locally is a good beginning. I have sold many things in the Greater New York area, including Connecticut, New Jersey,Long island and Upstate N.Y. (Almost sounds like the Billy Joel song). Surely there must be some ways that a trade can be worked o...

JT, thanks for the kind words.

I know there would be difficulties with protection and scams, but maybe we can all figure out a good work around. Open to all suggestions.

Leafs, it is probably better that you wait a while longer before jumping into the higher end of home theater/2channel because the better manufacturers are only beginning to catch up with the newest surround formats that Denon already accomodated i...

Hey AG, what happened to my "edit this post"? I really appreciate being able to amend an error or two.
Which came first, the chicken or the egg
Hi Leafs, I think the point I was mentioning will be sooner than 5 years. I appreciate just how well served we have been by records and stereo equipment, but certainly that can't be the last word. Stereo itself was a compromise. If I am not mistak...

Leafs, I don't think you would agree with your own comments if you were at my place listening to my 5 channel set up. Point is that with carefully chosen components and cabling, a 5 channel system can easily compete with a great 2 channel rig. Vin...

Sorry I missed the action JT. Been busy negotiating the latest upgrade, and my work slows down to a crawl in the summer, so I've been layin' low. Sounds, most of the pricier progressive scan models can do 3/2 pull down. The less expensive Pioneer ...

JT is right. FYI the new Denon also runs the DVDO chip set as well, and is way less money. I have the Sony 9000ES and am very happy with audio as well as video. Once you have used progressive scan, you never want to go back. It is much more natura...
Power cords - snake oil?
Hey Leafs, did you actually try the boiling water experiment yourself? If so, that is a great way of explaining why aftermarket pc's make a difference. After many tests, and after reading many of the power cord debates, I almost automatically upgr...
