Nakamichi Cassette Decks
True. There were not as many HKs made for sure. If I knew what I know now back then I would have got the CD 491 because the TOTL Naks were to expensive.
Marantz SA-10 arriving Monday!
Probably 4-800hours. Some of which was running off hours. It sounded better than ever yesterday but for some reason my stereo sounds best in the fall anyway. Go figure that!
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
Burn in is as real as the planes that fly above out heads. Just have an open mind.
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
X Files "The Truth is Out There" It seems like I'm one of the few out of many who wont speak up and state what they believe in with wire burn in/neutrino electromagnetic alignment. Thats my term until science better understands the phenomena.
Caig vs Kontak vs new WD-40 contact cleaner
Thanks Elizabeth. I also tried the silver paste years ago but it started blowing fuses on my equipment so I chunked it. I'm looking for a more conservative approach.
Nakamichi Cassette Decks
From what I have read when the ZX9 came out it became Nakamichi's reference deck. A sleeper deck to research is the HK CD491. Half the price with very close performance or even better than the Dragon but I don't seriously believe the later. I have...
I wonder how many audiophiles there are these days

Amps that bring liveliness to low efficiency speakers?
Bryston 14b3. Mine clipped at 680 watts on the bench.
How to meaningfully audition speakers??
Listen to one of your favorite songs several times the week before and then right before (but not loud) before you go to audition. That should help some. Try to pick a revealing test track.
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
"The existence of a neutrino mass allows the possibility of a tiny neutrino magnetic moment, in which case neutrinos could interact electromagnetically as well; no such interaction has been discovered.[32] " I just pulled that  from WIKI with only...
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
Burn in is just a name that people describe what they hear in wires changing in sound. It could be better called by some scientific name years from now. How about neutrino electrical alignment. Don't pick on me for choosing that word. Its just an ...
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
Dodging the question. Tubes change in sound while burning in? No?  Yes they do and like wire it burns in too.
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
Lets follow a moral compass and  try to respect your fellow audiogoners. Let's get back to the OP. I believe in Burn in. Tubes certainly burn in don't they. I have experienced that for sure. Wire or metal is the same.
Marantz SA-10 arriving Monday!
I'm still enjoying it. When I play a CD on it that it hasn't played before I always hear something new,
