Klipsch forte II what league are they in? With about 10wpc from 20' on my deck, "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road" sounds incredible. My moronically cheap T-amp/Playstation 1/ Forte II combo still amazes me! $81 source and amp...people just shake their heads...
Best sounding reggae on analog? Nina Hagen is for those who think there just isn't enough yodeling in reggae. I recommend "Nunsexmonkrock" if you want the full Nina Hagen experience. OK,I confess, I love her.I like compilation reggae albums, few artists (imo)other than Bob Marle...
Sony Playstation 1 for a CD player ??? Heat wave, 103-104 last week. Used my PS1 outside while I played with my little one in her pool during peak temps without issue. Don't think I will be buying a $200 power cord or $50 fuse for it. Wouldn't it make more sense to bypass the fuse and ...
Headphones? Anyone? I'm listening to Jethro Tull "Benefit" on some audio-technica ATH-A700s I picked up used locally on Craig's List as I write. I have enjoyed them to compare with my KRK KNS 8400s. Both are pretty nice sounding, each with their own strengths and wea...
Brandi Carlile She did "Raise Hell" which I have not heard before: loved it! Ok, just realized I called her "fabulous" and just said "loved it!" Use the right inflection and it sounds like that movie critic sketch from "In Living Color"!
Brandi Carlile She's on Craig Ferguson tonight, will have to record it.
Brandi Carlile I saw Brandi on Austin city limits with Rosanne Cash a few night s ago, immediately ordered "The Story" online. I have heard her before, never really knew who she was, I think she is fabulous. I guess I should pay more attention to this forum! Fou...
what kind of discount on demo speakers? I would be trying to get 20% off the top on new speakers, so I would be thinking more. I'm sure it depends on the demand for that specific item, but I've frequently seen much bigger discounts on demos.
Problem with loud buzzing noise on amplifier I think buzzing is usually the transformer. That's assuming the buzz is coming from the amp, not the speakers. Hope you get some tips from the more tech savvy here.
Headphones? Anyone? Thanks all, this is not quite the ghost town it was a while back. Not planning on dumping the Grados, but planned to get something new to try for a change. Just didnt think I would need them so soon. My first were Senn 414s, my first paycheck, fir...
VPi HW 19 jr upgrade I read somewhere that replacing the sorbathane pucks with cones, making the jr a non-suspended table improved this table. I have a jr and intended to experiment, but never got around to it. I would definitely recommend replacing the feet with cones.
Efficient speakers with high powered ss amp? Some speakers are designed to mate with low powered tube amps that have low damping factor and/or specific impedance requirements. This is a small minority of speakers out there and most speakers will work just fine. Manufacturers usually will let...
Please Advise me on Building a System on a Budget Watch craigslist/ebay and pick up a Sony Playstation as mentioned above. Sounds crazy, but this thing does sound great and is -so- cheap, it can be a starter source while you put your system together. Must be the PS 1 with rca outputs on back. If ...
Sad news for VPI - from their Facebook page... When I once contacted them for advice, I found them to be very helpful. It was evident that they are great people, my heart goes out to their family.
Which companies deserve a star for Christmas Years ago I called Rotel when my amp lost a channel and a local shop quoted me $250. They connected me directly to a tech and he recommended I send it to him. Saved me from being screwed by that shop and $180.Also, when I was working on a TT proje... |
