Borresen X3."Hi Fi" or High End as in natural realistic sound ?
@networkguy2010 It’s not my intent to be negative about Borresen. I thought I mentioned in my post above that I have a lot of respect for the 0 and M series, but noted their price points make those models inaccessible to many. I probably should ha...
Anybody have Experience with Alta Audio Alyssa Speaker
@audiojan and @soix - this is what I meant by careful matching with the amp. I found it took a lot of power and current to get the speaker tightened up and for the tweeter to wake up, but with the right amp, it really does come alive. Pulsars are ...
T+A DAC 200 or WEISS 501
Also, not related to 501 vs DAC 200, but when I most recently took in the Weiss 501, I was curious to try it as a headphone amp. I recently got myself a pair of Hifiman HE1000SE, which are not hard to drive, and the 501 has a good reputation as a ...
T+A DAC 200 or WEISS 501
@roccity As with any dialogue around format, I believe it is not about the format but about the implementation. T+A is one of the pioneers in DSD playback and the first manufacturer to achieve true 1-Bit DSD 1024 playback (established in the SDV 3...
T+A DAC 200 or WEISS 501
@mgrif104 Thank you for the kind words, and I agree with your assessment, though my comparisons have been with the original Weiss 501 2ch and not the newer 501 4ch. I had another customer more recently purchase the DAC 200 to move past two DACs he...
Anybody have Experience with Alta Audio Alyssa Speaker
@soix Thanks for sharing the link! I’ll check it out when I get back in town in a few days. I actually have an Usher demo cd laying around. I’ll have to check if it’s the same one. If it is, I’ll be happy to give it to you if you want it.  Don’t ...
Anybody have Experience with Alta Audio Alyssa Speaker
@soix It's just my personal opinion, but based from experience. I recently sold a pair of Usher DMD floorstanders and had some time to intimately gauge their performance while they were in possession. The Usher DMD range, both from when I've seen ...
Southwest Audiofest
I only thought to search the forums now to see if anyone was planning to meet up at this show. I went so that I could meet with the distributors and brands I deal for, but in hindsight, it would have been great to meet some Audiogoners during the ...
You tube hifi influencers. Love them or hate them?
I honestly dislike YouTube content for many of the reasons stated in this thread. YouTube's content creator model is designed around attention. The more attention something gets, the more the influencer is paid. As such all content needs to be tai...
Anybody have Experience with Alta Audio Alyssa Speaker
@grislybutter That's a cool site, thanks for sharing! @tjraubacher The Hegel is a great integrated amp and should be a fine match with the Alyssa. Clean sound (as the Alyssa is a bit on the warm side), and lots of power and current, as well as a ...
Anybody have Experience with Alta Audio Alyssa Speaker
@tjraubacher I haven’t had the Alyssa but I did own the older Alta Lelantos floorstanders for a few years. One thing I learned with Alta speakers is that they need both power and current to truly wake up. If you can match them with the right amp, ...
My Aurender N150 is stuck in repeat mode
@audphile1 I am unfortunately am not able to test for a few more days since I am in Dallas for the Southwest Audio Fest. I’ll be able to test on Wed, but you guys should please share any issues you have with support@aurender.com.  If @vonhelmholt...
My Aurender N150 is stuck in repeat mode
Have you tried shutting down and restarting the Aurender unit? Have you also quit out of Conductor completely and restarted it?
Solid State Phono Stages
I’m not repeating a non-sensical explanation, rather trying to simplify a complex topic. If it isn’t helpful or making sense for you, then you should either learn how to be curious and inquire for more explanation or do some investigation on your ...
Speaker isolation - spikes on puck, springs, sorbothane
I own Townshends for some speakers, but I am an Isoacoustics dealer and have used them largely under speakers and components for the last 7-8 years even before I started dealing them this year. Townshends are really great, in my experience, for r...
