AZ Matrix II vs Harmonic Tech Magic Link2
if by that you're pointing to HT squeaker cables, No.I am considering moving my power train into my listening room, and for that I'll need some new ones. I use the SR Sig 10 active x2 version now.I've found, as previously mentioned, SR had been an...
Are We All Going Mad?
Buconero117 Perhaps... but if her hair dryer said "Acoustic Revive RIO-5II Tourmaline Negative Ion Generator" on it I doubt seriously she could have bought it for just $30! Unless it was last years model. Current stuff is always oh, so much better...
Best way to A/B speakers......
I suppose you could merely go by test CDs.I prefer listening in my own system with familiar recordings and taking notes. Honest & objective ones, if possible. I say it that way as sometimes I've been prone to believe for no really good reason ...
AZ Matrix II vs Harmonic Tech Magic Link2
the AZ MII is no where near the Magic II. price in cabling is usually quite close to it's performance level. Usually. Once you get up above the $1K mark per pair, I've found things simply are different flavors. The one thing not all cables do is th...
Wedding toasts... let's hear them
those are all great. I'd write 'em down and combine them for my toast... especially that one about blending into mono, and your past best day being your future worst one.
You prefer Mosfets or Bipolar outputs in amps?
yeah... I've got way too much time on my hands.Sorry.....and well, they asked.... and I promise, I left out a lot!
Review: Butler Audio TDB 5150 Multichamp
Thanks very much.Yes.. I'm disscussing the rights now for the upcoming TV mini sieries, and looking for some "on & on meetings". lolI probably should have just said, "it's a good 'um boys, go buy it if ya need one!"The really funny part for yo...
How do you judge your system's neutrality?
I think the term defines itself. Does a piece add to or subtract from what a particular sound indeed sounds like?I don’t think even the Swiss are completely neutral.Bring into the room a guitar, symbols, clarinet, sax or trombone. Play ‘em. Then p...
Wedding toasts... let's hear them
For good or ill I've always felt a personal touch best in times such as these, rather than something canned. A personal touch there carries more weight and most of the party will associate better with it if known things are said about each of them...
EL34 in Cary CAD120S bias info needed
Called CAry about this item yet?I would. In my Dodd 120wpc MK II monos the bias is at 0.70. I bias them there and or a touch above at .714 as they'll then settle right around .68 or .69. So the drift isn't much and barely if at all noticeable. The D...
You prefer Mosfets or Bipolar outputs in amps?
I asked myself this question recently. Primarily because it just so happens I was searching out another amplifier. My previous exp with SS provided me a great exp with a BAT amp which had MOS FET in the design. Currently however, I’ve been well pl...
Getting analog audio out of a HD Tuner?
Nope. your antenna MUST feed that new box independantly. This requires as I said, a one in two out splitter attached to the antenna cable now feeding your TV. From that splitter, run one leg into your tV. The other leg of coax cable into the new TV...
Review: Butler Audio TDB 5150 Multichamp
Rotel vs Butler... apart from both having 5 ch and varied design topologies, there's scant little sonic parallels. The top end of the Rotel I found to be brighter by comparison. When I first heard the Rotel I wasn't tremendously impressed overall....
OT Congratulations NY Yankees
it just goes to show ya... Spend enough money and you can have about anything. I am glad however the Phillies lost.Would have prefered to see the Rays win, but Kazmier held them back and so did major injuries... then the Angels & Cards tanked....
Getting analog audio out of a HD Tuner?
Again, some of those digital TV tuner boxes only cost $50 - 60 a few months back, and why I said an HD TV set top reciever for connection to an antenna shouldn't be more than $100 or so.There are two listed here from $65:http://shopper.cnet.com/bu...
