This is a well done topic if you check out the archives... you'll see for yourself. In short, Yeah. it's fine.... but....There are a couple caveats... temperature, and power anomolies like spikes, interuptions, and low voltage instances. It doesn’t...
The Hub: Bowers & Wilkins 801: Good, Bad, or Ugly?
I've always found the BW line, since the late late '90s, to date as being esthetically separated from the traditional. it's a love 'em or leave 'em affair. The Nautilus series definitely had my eye, and ear for a time as I plodded thru the BW line...
Upgrading interconnects, where to start
If you plan on having only one source, start there. If you plan on having several, do the main IC.either way, it's just a starting point... not a finishing point, right? And you gotta have something somewhere. Well Hell, everywhere. My own plan is ...

Avalon Pricing Policy?
I've been attached to sales in one way or another for decades.Never the less, I'm continually confounded why when a legit offer to buy for less than MSRP arrives on your doorstep, it is so handily dismissed. There are all sorts of reasons for the w...
The Hub: No moving parts? No problem!
God forbid kids get any more on their plate than they have now, Bill.Ain't it enough for them to be asking for more minutes, iPods and the keys to the car... now you suggest they be opened up to asking for musical blow torches and their own Tesla ...
Is weight really mater?

Are We All Going Mad?
it's always a better path to sell the 'sizzle' than the steak. The imagined vs the reality.
How do you judge your system's neutrality?
It never ceases to tickle me how such ambiguous and subjective terms can become so widely articulated when brought into the audioland context.Of course by now, any member here must not only have their own quite music with which to audition but the...
AZ Matrix II vs Harmonic Tech Magic Link2
Tried both the SL & the SX. Two different worlds. I think the SL are made for those rigs that aren't terribly afixed to the idea of great sound. They can take off the edges and ease up the too bright highs... like #80 sandpaper. you'll definit...
How reliable are EAR amps
Rottenclam Great post.
Best way to A/B speakers......
GumbeWhen you find such a setup, do let me know. Maybe they'll also want to share with me the right six numbers for that weekends lottery drawing.... but it is a nice thought... just too impracticle... and costly.=== ===== =====Thomastrouble I'm p...
The Hub: No moving parts? No problem!
Is there somewhere, a dedicated audio only museum? or have such things been held part & parcel by the likes of Smithsonians and such?I'd think it a gas to see these things, especially if any remain in operationl status and I'm not refering to ...
Is weight really mater?
I've been quiet on this front as I felt I might be nuts believeing weight matters in SS amps.... but it kept showing itself as being pretty evident.my own exp with SS amps says Yes. There is a definite coorelation, more often than not. Indeed it i...
