Shunyata taipan or Python, for BAT?
Nolitan thanks... I've done something along that line by using the herbie's 'iso cups' w/ebony balls. They sure did a bundch for the sonics, all by themselves, including driving me nuts trying to figure out just where to place them... Geeesh. I've...
BAT + VR 4 JR = ?
Following some trials with home made and off the spool with special connectors afixed... I tried some "ready rolled" speaker wires from Synergistic... Not really trying to but the length I needed and the brand just became coincidental. so a 15 ft....
BAT to BAT - What's Best?
...as it turns out... the Synergistic Research resolution ref x2, active sheilded became the choice for the main link, pre to amp. balanced. Pricey but worth it. they bested the SX Ltds in the overall... the SX however was/is quite the ambient ret...
Shunyata taipan or Python, for BAT?
just for closure... I wound up with two gold Dragons III on the amp itself. Also got an Erod sig 3 to run them via a UPC 200 or Duet. since then I've found the Elrod best suited to use on the vk5i preamp, either as supply for the Taipan helix Alph...

Up & Over sampling Is one superior to the other?
Steve, thanks much. you've been a tremendous hehlp. My xa777 will likely remain the drive unit. the BC 3 does have my attention. I've heard much about the North Star but from a dealer I spoke with.. he said you need to use them together, drive and...

thanks teajay... I think I need a type V or VI, if type I & II run as much as those in the thread run. Oh. My. God. Probably need to simply buy more lotteery tickets.. or pray and likely both.but I'm (if I've a choice and I do), a type II guy....
Up & Over sampling Is one superior to the other?
thanks guys. My rig was deeply into the warm region once. Now it's near neutrality with a warm cast though still. but no longer resembling 'dark' IMO. i'VE ANOTHER pc ON THE WAY WHICH i'M PRETTY SURE WILL BRING ME EVEN CLOSER TO THE NEUTRAL DEAL. ...

Thanks, SteveAnyone had compatibility issues with that Foobar 2K software... it's not confidence inspiring reading through their FAQ's.I also didn't see where it did Apple lossless, I've nearly everything in AAC & AL. yet I'm likely gonna re-r...
'warm' cables?
If you've not got what you want yett... Soundstring, SR Resolution Ref X2, Audience, Golden Cross is, but it's a rear of hall experience, IMO. Neutral Ref is better if mids are the focus... almost entirely... good bass but the top end is better Ni...

Best path for PC audio into the big rig..
barelchiefI know what you mean. I've looked at a lot of spots and cant' find anything of note on the PS entry. Apart fromn the fact PS and one other source says it's "warm sounding". Huh. How warm? ..and Comparied to what? The ones listed here are...
Best path for PC audio into the big rig..
Taking another path, one not restricted to PC/USB solely, many other doors open.Provided I somehow add a SPDIF/TOS out of the PC via a sound card of some sort or the other, lots of DACs fit the apparent bill, for that use and for other uses too.Wi...
