Robert Hunter unfortunately has died As a ’active’ Deadhead in the 70’s, very sad news indeed. To me the Dead died when Jerry did, but those two together were an awesome duo. Now both gone.Great list Andrew.
B&K 125.2 Amp vs. Belles 150A (original) Thanks so much Johnny, your input means a lot. I may just make this person an offer, the Belles is still listed for sale.
B&K 125.2 Amp vs. Belles 150A (original) I was hoping you might see my post Johnny, as you are a ‘resident expert’ of Vandersteen’s.From your brief but informative reply, I take it this could be an improvement and possibly better match vs my B&K.Again, really like the B&K, but as...
B&K 125.2 Amp vs. Belles 150A (original) bump....anyone have experience with these two amps? I know, a long shot perhaps.
Bi-Wire Jumpers I have Vandersteen’s, and Richard almost demands bi-wiring as that is the way the speakers were designed for proper performance. So, I do.I have bi-amped in the past, but this is my first pair of speakers that are designed to be bi-wired.

Strange turntable/speaker issue I don’t use the lid while playing. Actually cannot with this particular clamp.I have been playing a lot of vinyl lately. Up till using that clamp, I truly wasn’t sure I would ever warm-up to vinyl over CD’s/streaming (and I grew up on LP’s, but ba...
Strange turntable/speaker issue Yep.I have to wonder if the clamp would have helped on the old Kenwood, but that ‘water is under the bridge’ so to speak (as it had other issues). The Kenwood had a sturdy rubber mat, and the Pro-Ject came with a flimsy felt mat, which I replaced ...
Strange turntable/speaker issue And get rid of this pretty tray of sand? 🙃https://www.dropbox.com/s/bnavxx927vkeyl7/IMG_0965.JPG?dl=0I may consider that, but right now, everything is working and sounding better than ever. 😉
Strange turntable/speaker issue Another update. After spending more and more on ‘new’ albums (mostly classical) I realized, stubbornly, that my old Kenwood was just not ‘cutting it’. Since I bought it in the mid-70’s it had issues with maintaining proper speed, and I finally deci...

Strange turntable/speaker issue Just an update.Recieved the high pass filters, but left them in their package in case I wanted to return them. Recieved the Schiit Mani today and hooked it up. Prior to all this, I took all the stock ‘absorbsion’ feet off the Kenwood, as 3 of 4 of...
Best drink while listening to your rig? Water; I don’t drink alcohol. On the weekends, of course coffee if I listen early enough.
The best music in 2018 Eels "The Deconstruction"If you're a fan, you'll get it.Love E, and whatever version of the Eeels he puts together. Will have to check that out on Tidal, surprised I have not yet.And always well recorded and engineered. But the Eeels do make music... |
