Sales or clearances happening now
Seems to be sales everywhere. Unfortunately my business is at a standstill now, which started about a week/week and a half ago, so I certainly won’t be participating. I don’t see clients coming back anytime soon. I had to claw my way back after th...
Thoughts on choosing an amplifier
I would recommend reading about the Belles 150A Reference here:Can’t go wrong with an old Belles amp, lots of power, and a wonderful sound. I was looking for a 150A, but they move fast on the used market, so jump fast on one if the price is right....

Joni Mitchell, Don Juan’s Reckless DaughterReally nice, and Jaco....Man....Just bought the European CD set of Joni’s; The Studio Albums 1968-1979. Great purchase for this complete collection.
Whats on your turntable tonight?
Just got a bunch of LP’s off Discogs yesterday, many very good ones...But this one is really well done, and am listening to it now:Zubin Mehta conducting the LA Philharmonic, Tchaikovsky Symphony No 4 in F minor, on London, 1967. Fantastic and in ...
Anyone else grateful that they got hooked on this crazy addiction
After a day in the life, and watching the newsAnd when I think of our current situation because of another country, I want to set my hair on fire!!No doubt. After Tuesday I simply turned off the TV after the 6:00 news. Something I do a lot anyway,...
Why is There Not More Consolidation in Audio?
I believe jond basically covered it.Consolidation happens when larger companies see profit in buying smaller companies or to eliminate competition. This is such a tiny niche market there's really not much of a point except for a few bigger brands.
Your experience with great Jazz guitar CD/SACD discs.
I’m partial to anything Herb Ellis did with Monty Alexander and Ray Brown. Particularly some of the Triple Treat recordings.

Cassettes still rock!
Hickamore,Ah yes, I have all my earlier 10,000 Maniacs on cassette: The Wishing Chair, In My Tribe, and Blind Mans Zoo. From that period I also have most of my Cure, REM, Sugar Cubes, Lush, and a couple of Laurie Anderson’s (including her United S...
Cassettes still rock!
glupson,I ran into one at the Goodwill store in the U.S.A. for, I think, $20. I bought it just so I can say I owned a Nakamichi at some point in my life, also not forseeing using it more than an hour or two. It is, in fact, sweet little player. I ...
Cassettes still rock!
I was a big fan of TDK MA and SA tapes, have some Maxwell as well. Yes, some have froze, but very few. That just seemed to be an issue with the medium, even ‘back then’. My larger issue is those damn felt pads falling off a few vs freezing of the ...
Cassettes still rock!
I dragged out my long stored cassettes with my vinyl when re-setting up my turntable. Got around purchasing a used simple Nakamichi CR-1A, as I really didn’t see using it as I did 35-40 years ago, (recording many albums and CD’s for auto/mobile us...
Dried up Ferrofluid?
Bill is excellent and highly recommended. Just rebuilt one of the acoustic couplers from one of my Vandy 2CE Sig’s. Very very reasonable and a great guy.
Audio Connection/Johnny Rutan
I’ll add my own accolades. I’ve only been here a short time, but Johnny reached out to me, offered to chat in the phone to discuss my questions, (which I did), offered information and advice, and just reached out to me the other day offering to he...
