Amp for Naim line?
Probably better to upgrade within the Naim world. If your 250 is getting on to 10 years old, a recapping will provide a very noticeable upgrade. Given that you already have a Supercap, upgrading your 82 to a 52 (if you can find one) would improve ...
Naim Audio recap
I have personal experience with a number of Naim power amp recaps, though not specifically a 140. In every case, the performance improvement was not subtle. If you've been happy with your 140 and it still suits your needs, a recap is a good invest...
Shelby Lynne
A nice LP, although my pressing is noisy. I wish the arrangements and the tempos were a little more varied. Her earlier album, "I Am Shelby Lynne", is a stronger representation of her talent. Unfortunately, it's not available on vinyl and the reco...
Which speaker is best with Naim
First, soundstage is never going to be maximum potential with the Nait. Naim has other fish to fry, the taste of which you know and love. Second, the narrowness of your room precludes full potential of soundstaging characteristics. I'm not familia...
linn lp-12 isosation
I second Tobias on the removal of the Trampolin base. The rhythm will be quicker and livelier. More toetapping! Before committing to any after-market isolating feet---which after all are just doing a variation of what the Trampolin does---try a se...
Best location setup of turntable
I second Bdgregory. I use a Target. If you're not particularly handy and it takes more than $100 to do the job right, you will find that it's worth it.
What's your favorite remake of a song
The Queen Of Soul: "Respect." Otis Redding, in admiration, said: "That girl stole my song."
Best speakers for 3 cord rock and roll
For great rock 'n' roll performance for value, look for a decently cared for pair of vintage Klipsch Cornwalls: efficient, 15" woofer, happy at high decibels. One small caveat: they sound best at 20' or farther.
Where to start with vinyl
Rega TT from the P3 on up, Dynavector 17D3 cartridge, and Dynavector P-75 Mk. 2 phono preamp (will accommodate low or high output cartridges). To borrow from one of the other responders, this combo will be "more satisfying" than virtually any digi...
