Here's to the temperate, the gentle, the moderates in audio Agree with the sentiment and agree with the fact that you get more bees with honey. I have my favorite you tubers (mentioned above), AND despite the bravado OCD Mikey made some good points in his recent video, and truly knows his stuff. All is...
Best Circa 90's CDP I have a pioneer Pd 65. Lots of gain in this, or perhaps a mismatch between components. However, great sounding CDP, and looks that kill!
Denver used market? Gold Sound on south Broadway also buys/sells used equipment. Sorry for your loss.
How to make your amp more expensive My father taught me if you’re going to make an investment in material goods buy the heaviest one. It’s a sign of quality!! unless you’re buying hang gliders or parachutes. I add lead weights to all of my new purchases.
Vinyl/TT Gurus Chime in! Cartridge Decision: Rework My old Sumiko or get a new cartridge? Hey Esteborino sad story.. I decided to get a new Sumiko and send the virtuoso to soundsmiyh for service. Not only did the shop I hired put on the wrong (but “equivalent” ) new cartridge the threw away my virtuoso. Beyond angry… not much I can...
Is there a way to switch one set of speakers between two sound systems? Or the cheap route.. get some BioWare cables from Blue Jeans with one end to the speakers and splitting the signal at the amps. It called quite ad star or something similar
Speakers 10 years old or older that can compete with todays best, My Early 2000’s Gallo Acoustic reference 3.1s will never leave my home. Imaging to die for, finese, brute strength and a truly flat response down to about 25 hz.
At what price is one considered an Audiophile. I helped a friend curate one of the best sounding systems I’ve heard in real life (ie in a home not in a show room or audio show) for $3k. It absolutely spanks some $20k systems I’ve heard.. I think it’s about sitting back and being transpor...
Which to keep! Pick one of these two soeakers Just my 2 cents.. if financially viable keep both. You have two very different designs , with different strengths and weaknesses. Keep them in your main listening space, swap them, mix and match to musical performance strengths. Disclaimer : I own...

FAVORITE POWER CABLE under $100 (1M) +1 for Cullen Canles. Great customer service. I replaced every power cable w/Cullen. Noticeable difference that my girlfriend noticed as well.
LOUDEST Concert and Tinnitus Without question it was Bassnectar at Red Rocks. I was half way up the amphitheater and my decibel meter in my phone measured 115. It was nuts and forced Red Rocks to change the rules and ban Bassnectar for ever. as far as tinnitus, I’ve had s...
Candidates for best speakers in the $2000-5000 market Gallo Reference 3.5 w/ the additional subwoofer amp to power the 2nd voice coil would light up your room. They come up once in a while here and on US audio mart. One of my favorite top end and low extension speakers.
If there was only ONE album/cd/release you can listen to, over and over............. Charlie Parker - Box set on Verve
Acoustic Curtain for listening area Don’t be so quick to rule out “cheap” IKEA stuff. I helped a friend build his room and the heavy black out curtains are well made and did the trick , unless you insist on spending thousands. |
