How important is the cable between the SUT and phono pre? It has a bypass switch but right now I'm just using various versions of the Denon DL 103 cartridges. So MC all the way. I have plenty of good shielded cables so I should have what I need. Thanks BillWojo
Tonearm for vintage mm cartridges That Shure is an example of a extremely high compliant cartridge and a matching tonearm won't be a great match with the majority of modern and vintage mid compliance cartridges. Our member Chakster could probably recommend a tonearm that would st...
Brian Eno's Turntable Design Hopefully the table is not as vapid, empty, and soulless as is Eno's "music". No idea who Eno is but that makes me sure not to waste time finding out. To many other artist that are good. So he is a musician or something that thinks he can buil...
A $349 record brush The Absolute Sound is not relevant to me. That place is in la la land. Where is the "Like Button"? BillWojo
VPI tonearm length improvement Can you move the tonearm pivot point back to accommodate it? Other than that I have nothing further to add, sorry. BillWojo
Brian Eno's Turntable Design I'm sorry to disagree but as I stated on another forum it looks like something that would be sold at Spencers Gift Shop. BillWojo
Have a Victor UA-7045 tonearm coming lewm, I agree that it certainly doesn't look like a low mass arm. I really doubt that it is. My Denon DL-103 played pretty well on it, actually it was the UA-5045 tonearm that I paired it with but they look almost identical from the top of the mou...
Have a Victor UA-7045 tonearm coming Never made the mold up. I’m hoping to get on that project soon as I have 2 Victor tonearms that need one. I will let the forum know if and when they become available. What tonearm is on your turntable. From what Chakster say's, the UA-7045 is sui...
Tonearm for Technics SP-15 "Everything. You need to buy the MK2 or the 500." Raul, I know they are different arms but please explain what is different in the VTA adjustment mechanism. Looks like they both use a helical thread. Telling me this is better or that is bette...
Turntable upgrade recommendations: SME vs AMG vs Technics vs other My suggestion is to find out when the next big audio show is going to be held and book a flight. When spending this kind of money you want to be able to get hands on the product. Any of these top flight tables should provide what you want, you nee...
Tonearm for Technics SP-15 Everyone keeps talking about the unique VTA on the fly adjustment of the Technics arm so I had to look that up. Aside from 20MM of travel (Technics) opposed to 6MM of travel (that can be reset by simply loosening the collet lock on the pillar and ...
Tonearm for Technics SP-15 Elliott, the Technics EPA tonearm guru is a fellow that goes by JP and can be found at the HiFi Haven forum as well as other places. Do a search on that arm there, he does a repair to the fragile ruby bearings as used on them. Interesting to read...
Science that explains why we hear differences in cables? So this Greg weaver guy thinks that "wave propagation" trumps resistance and capacitance and he also believes that digital cables will sound better using "wave propagation" as the design philosophy. Makes my head want to explode. This guy is a mas...
Ikeda 407 Tone Arms - New or Vintage Well since I'm a machinist and can make any counterweight I might need can I say that all of my tonearms have a infinate number of counterweights? BillWojo
SUT Interconnects What ever Denon used in the AU-320 SUT for the output cables seems to work really well. BillWojo |
