After years of separates, I'm going integrated. Anyone else do the same?
@ps yes it is!
Why do folks spend more on electronics than on speakers?
It all matters but if the speakers and placement aren’t right, nothing else matters.

Integrated all the way. Love the clean setup of my McIntosh MA8900, Roon Nucleus+, and Sonus Faber Olympica Nova Vs.
Klipsch Forte IV ... what amp ?
McIntosh MA252 tube integrated would pair beautifully.
Upgrade system to stream Tidal
@tboy Looks like the Cambridge has a built in DAC + Bluetooth, so I’m not sure you need a dedicated streamer.  You could probably stream off a laptop perhaps? If not, would suggest something like a Bluesound Node 2.
I miss my Loudness Button and Tone Controls....
I’ve got tone controls on my McIntosh MA8900 and like them for things like rock and hip hop. For jazz and classical recordings, I typically turn it off.
Best upgrade: amp or pre-amp?
I’d consider an integrated amplifier.  You’ll get more bang for your buck.  If you’re comfortable sharing a budget, I’m sure folks could better help with suggestions.
Is it me? Will I ever be satisfied?
How’s the bass in your setup?  First thought, with the room size, would be to add a subwoofer.
McIntosh MA9000 temperature in standby
I have the MA8900 and it runs very cool, even at high volumes (say 40 on the volume knob). Agree with the poster up thread that I would contact McIntosh directly as those temps seem high.
Sonus Faber speakers
@andrew_r I’m using a Roon Nucleus + with a Tidal subscription
OMG!!! Hegel H120 & 190 Finally Roon Ready
Love my Roon + Tidal setup. Glad you can finally enjoy!
Anything SS sounds better than D'Agostino ?
My iPhone amp paired with my YouTube pre-amp is the best combo / sound I’ve ever heard!  So glad I found this thread.
Sonus Faber speakers
I have the MA8900 amp and the Olympica Nova Vs.  I just had them delivered 3 weeks ago, and speakers are still breaking in.  That said, the amp and speakers pair really well.
McIntosh -- good for show, not for sound, says dealer
I love the guys trashing McIntosh who emphatically claim “it’s not as good as <insert brand they own here>” like it’s a statement of fact.  Taste is a very personal thing - we’re all entitled to our opinions, but that’s all it is…an opinion.
BIG difference Tidal vs Amazon Music
I’m using Tidal through my Roon Nucleus and like the setup but have noticed their music selection lacks some of the tracks I like.
