Eric Clapton reveals this week of his declining health @cfjl1 There are many great guitarists who have never reached Mr. Claptons level of fame. I live near DC, which spawned some of the best: Roy Buchanan, Danny Gatton, (both deceased-seen them both), Link Wray, Tom Principato (still performing). Th...
Tekton Design - New IRL Technology - Lifelike, Real, Immersive I have heard better sources that make things sound better. Gary at Genesis did this with vinyl recordings a few years back. Easy to hear the differences in the materials used to make the vinyl discs. Better yes, earth shattering no.
Amir and Blind Testing IMO if you have to do an A/B comparison blindfolded and struggle to hear any major differences, then keep what you Have. If you don't hear an immediate improvement then cross that item off you list. Happy Listening.
The panic selling of tube audio had begun. @rickdoesaudio I just repaired that same model not worth that price unless completely upgraded. Happy Listening.
Reasons not to freak out about tube supplies New Sensor just advised me that they are back on track to get supplies. Happy Listening.
Best upgrade: amp or pre-amp? All good suggestions - buy a nice condition BEL power amp and send it to me for upgrades and then you will be dome with all of this. Happy Listening.
Sad to say I need a new amp… @wb27 @bkeske Gentlemen, I am in New Jersey if you want me to repair your components. PM me - Peter
Class A or Class D solid-state amplifiers (modern designs) @atmasphere @spenav Sorry Ralph while I am familiar with your work, I have no first hand experience. But you are one of the few who manufacturers quality from what I can see. I remember also using Caddock resistors back in the day also. spe...
Class A or Class D solid-state amplifiers (modern designs) @atmasphere @spenav I have heard the amps you mentioned at length. I knew Tommy O'Brien personally and he came to many of our Audio Raves back in the day. He is a really nice gentleman and his products are excellent. That being said, those ...
Class A or Class D solid-state amplifiers (modern designs) @spanev - his statement was to me that he has heard amps that compete - so since I cannot get a hold of his amps - I am asking him to provide me with his experience based upon his response to me. To date, we have not heard a class D amplifier th...
Class A or Class D solid-state amplifiers (modern designs) @atmasphere besides your class D amps what others do you feel compete? Thanks
Class A or Class D solid-state amplifiers (modern designs) @rsf507 - Vu Jade Audio come to our listening room in Northern New Jersey and bring whatever you want to compare. Happy Listening
Class A or Class D solid-state amplifiers (modern designs) I am reading this with great interest. To date, we have not heard a class D amplifier that competes in sound quality. We are open to hear something that comes close but not yet to our ears. Happy Listening.
Class-A Amplification and 15 Amp Outlet Just plug them in and play them. We use a Walmart power strip for around $10 and it works fine. You are better off spending money on upgrades capacitors, resistors, chokes, etc.
How to make small room sound bigger sure modify your components begin with power supply capacitors, install better resistors like Audio Note non-magnetic silver, add filter chokes to the AC and inputs, etc. Happy Listening. |
