Has Anyone Compared the DAC On a Bluesound NODE 3rd Gen to a Separate DAC?
You want opinions on a unit with a build in DAC compared to separate DACs in what price range?  Almost all of the better DACs will be better.
OMG. What now?
As a manufacturer we keep saying that we are done that is until we hear something that sounds better to our ears.  For example, we were using Audio Note capacitors in our components until we removed them and added chokes to replace them.  Big chan...
Has anyone had on of these CD players? How good are they?
I owned the X707ES for many years.  Good player in its time but not so special in stock form by today's standards.  If you are looking for a good transport you would be better off buying a Rega Saturn.  Very musical and good quality.   Happy Lis...
Comparison of Transports
Can you tell me what actually craps out with them?  Is it the same issue?  What did Pro-Ject say?  I happen to won one so I am wondering what the issue is.
Considering a new amp for my Vandersteen Quatro CT
Spending thousands on another amp is a waste of money. The Bryston is an excellent and reliable amp. You will only be fooling yourself to think that a newer amp will somehow sound better and more "musical".    Interesting comment but I do not ha...
Sonus Faber Amati Trads or Serafinos + Gravis Vi?
We have a nice pair of Sonus Faber Stradivari in our listening room driven by VAC mono blocks, or our Class A mono blocks.  While I would say that they are on the warm side of the musical spectrum, vocals like Pink Floyd are stunning.  Bass is a l...
Which would you choose for good sounding tube preamp for an audiophile new to tubes.
Buy an old Counterpoint preamp - recommend the cheapest one you can find.  Send it to me for upgrades and you will never look back. The old stock units sound really good especially in the mid-range.  They can use a little bit of help in the high-...

Parts Connexion in Canada Mouser Michael Percy Audio Sonic Craft ???

@nymarty - Very familiar with.  Swap out power supply capacitors, upgrade resistors to higher values is also a good idea.  You can also try V-Caps and I can let you hear amps that have them.
3k Phono preamp upgrade options (JC3+, XP-17, etc)
The best SS phono I ever heard and would buy is the Tom Evans.  Excellent sounding.  The Tron also makes a good phono but it is a little soft sounding but  very musical.   Happy Listening.

I in New Jersey if you want to upgrade the amp or discuss.
Softest, smoothest sounding capacitors you've tried?
@terry9 oimp are oil impregnated  polypropylene.  Clarity also has a sound
Softest, smoothest sounding capacitors you've tried?
Agree with Rodman99999 - you can try Takman carbon resistors. Don't agree 100% with Eric and petg60.  All caps have coloration (every single one does) as opposed to using chokes instead of capacitors.  Agree with mickeyb - V-Cap oil caps are smoo...
Jupiter vs. Vcap Odam?
We have compared V-Cap Oil to the Jupiter Copper in many components. We preferred the V-Caps to the coppers.  We now are using the ODAM as we feel they improve upon the sound of the V-Cap oil caps.  Plus they are smaller in size so we can perform ...
