Benefits of an external DAC
If you don't hear a difference then be happy.  Chips have sound characteristics but it comes down to implementation such as the power supply, etc. already mentioned above.  My friend recently compared two R2R Dacs, one tube DAC $7500 and one SS DA...
Digital coax cable, real world experiences?
I have tried many of the digital cables mentioned  n this thread.  I have come back to using the Moray James digital cable.  It makes music sound more "real" as best that I can describe what it does.  All others seem to do good things also but I a...
If you were to market a product, what would you do?
C1dad - at first I built the DAC for my own personal use.  I was using the 26/226/326 tubes.  I preferred them over the 101D tubes.  When everyone asked me to make them one, I had to use the 101D tubes.  They did not originally sound as good as th...
If you were to market a product, what would you do?
I posted pics of the DAC on my system.
If you were to market a product, what would you do?
C1Dad -  the DAC is a direct heated triode design using 101D tube.  R2R discrete is incorporated in our design.  Vujadeaudio.com is my current website but like I said I only have one pic of the front of the DAC with the old chassis.  I am planning...
If you were to market a product, what would you do?
I have a website now and it needs to be updated with the new chassis pictures.  We are in the process of building the products in the new chassis so over the next month we will be ready for all the pictures.Beta testers, well we offer a trail peri...

inna we have two power amps already, one is an all tube design and the other is a hybrid but we are waiting on the final chassis design.  We also have a prototype of a field coil speaker.  Really nice!  Happy Listening.
If you were to market a product, what would you do?
My partner and I are building Direct Heated Triode DAC and preamp.  We also build a phono stage.  These are hand built, point-to-point wired with customer transformers and the best resistors, capacitors, etc.  Power supplies are about 30 lbs., eac...
Member's recommendations for tube amplification
What Atmasphere is saying.  GO to eBay and but the Lafayette KT-550 PP amp and convert to EL tubes and be done with your search.Happy Listening.
Question for cable/wire naysayers.....
Geez, I don't even hear the differences with speakers!, for get about cables!Got my all in one Motorola High Fi TT console and it sounds wonderful.  Happy Listening.
Curious about older "world class" D/A converters
My comments would be towards the build quality of the DAC.  What is inside would be what matters.  Plenty of opinions on different products but what parts are inside and can you upgrade the units with newer parts.  Someone mentioned higher resolut...
$100,000 line stage
Funny, I always said that the hand made units I make would be $50K if a well known audio manufacturer made them!  Looks like a point-to-point wired unit.  Chassis is subpar for a $100K unit and so it the volume control.  Power supplies are robust....

Why don't amplifier Companies use high end fuses?
HA HA HA.  Why don't they use better resistors, capacitors, chokes or transformers, chassis metal thickness, feet, etc.  Cost to price ratio?  I think those would make bigger improvements than some fuses IMO.  Why not just use a copper bar?Happy L...
What Is The Cost Of Amplifier Casework?
Depends on how many cases you order.  Figure a least $1K to $2K a case if not more to have a solid block of aluminum milled out.  In my business a plain case with just a few design changes can cost close to $350 to $500 per case for a box 12" by 8...
