Wow an old album that rocked your world
@uberwaltz I'd recommend getting the MFSL one-step.  I hate paying stupid money for records, but I think it's worth every penny.
have you ever bought stereo without listening first
I've been disappointed more often buying something that I heard in person.  In two cases that spring to mind, I was in a hifi store just browsing around and heard something that caught my ear and seemed like a great deal.  I didn't do any research...

New TT for ~$1500
My comments are based on my ownership of the Clearaudio Emotion, which by all accounts is basically the same as the Marantz TT-15S1 with a different plinth and feet.  Some things to consider.  There's no dust cover.  That may or may not be an issu...

Oppo BDP-105D just for CDs?
The 105D has a remote, you won't really need anything else just to play CDs.  I controlled mine with a Harmony remote.  It also has buttons on the front to control eject, play, pause, skip, etc.  There's also an app you can download for your phone...

Non Analytical Sounding DAC Upgrade- Budget $1,500 or less
I have the Orchid in my computer system and have been very happy with it.  I listen mainly through Harbeth P3ESR with a PSA S1500 sub driven by a Vincent SV 237 integrated.  I also have a Simaudio 430 HA headphone amp and an assortment of head...
Oppo BDP-105D just for CDs?
The Oppo is a Swiss army knife. It does a lot of things and does most of them pretty well, including playing CDs and SACDs. It has a good DAC.  If you're getting it at the going prices, you might do better getting a purpose-built CD player althoug...
Rhythmic or Hsu
I've owned both, but my Hsu experience was a couple of generations ago, a VTF-3 MK III. I still own one of their MBM-12 mid bass modules that I use for movies. I don't think they are made as well or sound as good as rythmik, but maybe they've gott...
What are you streaming tonight?
I've had Radio Paradise on for a good chunk of the day, now I'm listening to The Who at 50 on Qobuz.
Whats on your turntable tonight?
@slaw I'm happy for the moment, but there's always that itch to eke out a little more sound quality!
