I can't recommend the US reissue of Fashion Nugget. It was fogged, had a small skip on one side, the light warp, and it sounded like the second side had a scratch at the end, although nothing was visible.  The European reissue in the other hand is...

Cake - Fashion Nugget.  This is a replacement for the one I got that was all jacked up. This one has a light warp but not too bad. So far, so good.

I agree with the recommendations for Audeze for the type of sound you described.  I'd throw Hifiman into the mix also.  Similar sound signature, a little more neutral and depending on which model, can be lighter than many of the Audeze models.  ...
