Cartridge forgiving of "non-audiophile" recordings and pressings A Clearaudio Virtuoso Wood is in your budget and IMO has the attributes you're seeking. I put mine on my Technics SL-1200 Mark 2 often to listen to my less-than-perfect records.
What are you streaming tonight? Nils Frahm - Tripping with Nils Frahm, Qobuz Hi-Res
What are you streaming tonight? Sigur Rós - Odin's Raven Magic, Qobuz Hi-Res. I've heard of them, but never listened before. Pretty cool stuff.

As Advised, Starting With Speakers First. Oh, and on your way through Oregon you definitely have to stop at Echo Audio in Portland. By far my favorite Hi-Fi store in the PNW.
Whats on your turntable tonight? Thanks Jim! I'm kind of blown away by how good my old DJ turntable sounds now.
As Advised, Starting With Speakers First. Definitely visit Gig Harbor Audio. Check out Hawthorne especially if you're open to used gear. I haven't looked at their website in a while, but I think they post all their used gear there.
Whats on your turntable tonight? Picked up a lightly used Soundsmith Aida MKII on an impulse purchase yesterday. Put it on the Technics SL-1200 MKII tonight. Listening to Paul Simon - Stranger to Stranger. The cartridge is really quiet and the mid-range is fantastic. It has amazi... |
