VPI Aries/JMW 10/Lyra Delos -- Phono preamp rec?
Albert, Whatever you decide to pick up, keep in mind that the Delos' output is .6mV. Just be sure your rig has enough gain. My phono pre has 58 db and my line-stage another 12db. IMO, more is better. Don't go less than what I have. Another 3 to 5 ...
How hard is this on a tube pre amp?
FWIW, I sometimes push my Ref 5 SE to 80+ clicks out of 104 total clicks when playing some records. Kal said I won't hurt the Ref 5. If you want to be certain, e mail Kal. He's very responsive.
Phillips no longer producing transports
As an owner of the ARC CD-8, this is a major big deal issue for ARC. Most of their current as well most of their older CDPs use the Phillips transport. I hope ARC stockpiles enough to service what they've sold the last n++ years. I'll e mail Kal a...
New on audiogon
Hi Acidfolk. Congratulations on your new set up! Let me share some comments other members have made about the Daedalus and Revel Salon 2 speakers. One of our respected members, Almarg (also a EE), owns Daedalus speakers. He drives the Daedalus spe...
ARC tube CD players - Burn in
Yashu, I would call Kal at ARC customer service. But I think the instruction manual or a packing insert would tell you what the break-in period is. Most of their new gear requires 600 hours. If that is the same with the CD-9, it's way too early to...
Heads Up: ARC is introducing the new SP-20 in Fall
Joman, an attempt at bad Yiddish. Technically it is supposed to mean go in health. In the context of my post, it means, "whatever" or "ho-hum."
Heads Up: ARC is introducing the new SP-20 in Fall
My goodness folks. My OP was just an fyi to our community that ARC is coming out with a new preamp that has phono capabilities. I like my ARC gear. Others have their own favorites. Gazinct ga haid (go in health). That's why there's chocolate and v...
VPI 3D tonearm
Does anyone know whether VPI will take a mint Classic 3 arm in trade for the 3D print arm? And if so, how much the extra charge would be? Oh ... can the SS intuit device be used on the 3D print arm?
If you had a Benz cartridge would you let someone
Sbrown ... that's an interesting bit of info. I've been reading a lot of good comments about Andy. My primary cartridge is the Lyra Kleos. Not sure, but it may have a micro ridge stylus. I'll check. I seem to recall that Jonathan Carr, Lyra's desi...
What's in your CDP tonight? the minority report
The original Jersey Boys soundtrack. It is very well done and takes me back a lot of years to much simpler and happier times. And that is why I'm into audio.
Computer audio, I am not convinced yet ......
Thanks Dtc. Still no industry standard --- sad. I hope the techies figure it out before I get so old I lose my hearing. LOL Until then, I'm holding with redbook CD.
Computer audio, I am not convinced yet ......
Donjr just posted a thread that mentions Sony is introducing a bunch of new hi rez products. Admittedly, I do not understand the lingo or the formats. Perhaps one of our digital techy members can translate what this means. Is this something new, o...
VPI 3D tonearm
@ Andyprice ... thanks for your support. Andy, I checked your system, and I think it's a fine rig. I'm sure it gives you tremendous pleasure and isn't that what our hobby is all about? Just a general comment or two if I may. By and large, I think ...

Br .... look at some of her other posts. There are even better doozies. Very close to asking the Forum moderator to get involved.
Linda Ronstadt can't sing anymore.
And Judy, ... so do you. Shubert is a respected Audiogon member who frequently makes interesting and thoughtful comments on numerous audio related subjects. Your persistent negative comments are appearing on just about very discussion topic I have...
