Whats on your turntable tonight? The Velvet Underground “Loaded”, T-Rex “Electric Warrior”, Big Star “Radio City” - Big Star, such an influential band. Alex Chilton was a huge talent & way ahead of his time... slinky eclectic vibe last night w/TVU & T-Rex
Dated but still A rated DACs Anyone use a Muse Model Two to stream and if so how did you integrated it into your system?
Whats on your turntable tonight? Ray LaMontagne “Trouble”, Jason Isbell “Something More Than Free” - two fabulous albums
Why does my old CD player sound so much better than my new streamer? So I’m new to most discussions herr although I admittedly lurk about for information; so many bright and informative perspectives on all kinds of gear. Here’s my question... I have a very modest older setup that I like to listen to late night. Hav...
Whats on your turntable tonight? Rolling Stones - “Some Girls”... taking me right back to HS & summer ‘78!
Whats on your turntable tonight? Anderson East “Alive in Tennessee” cover to cover in a post CMA moment. Was an impulse buy and sat for 5mos before I played it; mistake! What a terrific live show - nicely recorded & a recommended musical nugget
Whats on your turntable tonight? Curtis Mayfield “New World Order”, Isley Brothers “Brother, Brother, Brother”, Leon Bridges “Good Thing”... funky vibes
Whats on your turntable tonight? Paul Weller “Stanley Road”, Faces “First Step” & Free “Fire and Water”. Is it me or does great British music always sound best through British gear?
Whats on your turntable tonight? Beastie Boys “Paul’s Boutique” - so great! Blackberry Smoke “The Whippoorwill” & Son Volt “Trace”... Not exactly sure how I got from the BBs to Son Volt in the same sitting. Quite a stretch, lol
Whats on your turntable tonight? David Bowie - “Low”, Sting - “Mercury Falling”, Steve Earle - “ El Corazon”, Julie Miller - “Broken Things”. Morning mashup between raking leaves and taking dog to the beach... the latter being exponentially more enjoyable!
Whats on your turntable tonight? Walter Wolfman Washington - “My Future Is My Past” & “Half The City” - St Paul & The Broken Bones in a late night session. NOS Grace F9E on the Luxman table sounding particularly nice...
Whats playing on your system today? Went deep with some St Paul & The Bone Breakers last night (both “Half The City” and “Sea of Noise) - such a cool southern soul vibe. Followed those with Yola’s “Walk Through Fire” - yet another talented young blues/soul artist from across the...
LS3/5A vs Tannoy Super old thread but maybe get someone to chime in... very "speaker poor" these days but do have a mid 80's set of 11ohm, Roger's LS3/5As that play exceptionally with my Tandberg 3012 and a set of Reference 3a De Capos with a vintage Crown Power L...
Amps from the 1980's -- What gear holds up sonically? Reliably? Have a Crown PL Three and SL Two silver face setup driving Tannoy LRM's and JBL 4311's. Don't know if there's a better looking power package (PL Four excluded) than this setup. Can't tell you the ease in which this amp drives my gear. Hasn't EVER ...
