Bob Dylan's Modern Times, a new Masterpiece?
Martykl-Love And Theft has very similar music to Modern Times on it.Dreadhead- I said OM was something of a masterpiece-it was certainly his best album for a long time and it was a reference to Lanois fantastic production job on it.His Masterpiece...
Bob Dylan's Modern Times, a new Masterpiece?
I can understand why the "harder and more atmospheric" sounds on TOOM would appeal more than the "quirky and lightweight" sounds on L&T.Interestingly enough I find the production on TOOM really distracting and actually rather false and gimmick...

Bob's been saying one thing and doing another his whole career please try to keep up.:-)Remember money doesn't talk it swears..........

Sorry mate you've obviously never seen Stonehenge as part of it fell over centuries ago.Bob Dylan is only a man.Anyway serves you right for watching the tennis you could have been re-positioning your speakers............
Bob Dylan's Modern Times, a new Masterpiece?
I've heard the album now about nine times and I wouldn't be prepared to go that far to be honest. There are three arguably four "classic" songs on this album,it is a very good and reasonably consistant record with a few minor moments and maybe one ...

Capt369 I like most of the Jazz artists you mention also. However your comments on Dylan are based on some cliched terms referring to his fame or legend.Your dismissal of what he did with music is crude and largely wrong. If you have even a basic in...
Bob Dylan finally makes sense....
Capt369's post shows the depth of thinking about music for a whole lot of people and I think that's fine but it's neither interesting or thought provoking in itself.Audiogon is filled with this level of comment time and time again on music.Dylan's...

I think some of you are wasting time talking about something that is a by product of your hobby it's called music. As Hdm states above you couldn't even interpret his comments correctly.I also think he's probably referring to his field and general...
The Strokes - First Impressions Of Earth
Personally I think they've never really developed their sound nor their writing.I liked the debut a lot and they were terrific live around that time but the last two albums haven't done much for me at all.
I've found the cd player for analog lovers
The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Meat Loaf and Pink Floyd.
Absolutely worst LP that you own & enjoy?

Another one of those threads.:-)You really need to define "audiophile piece".Indeed I'd be fascinated to know why that would matter. And before we get replies screaming spoil sport please notice the replies are coming from different perspectives.So...
Morph The Cat : Revisited
Not really on the sound but I do think it is better overall than the last two Dan albums.
Are the Beatles the reason why modern music exists
I never listen to the radio but are constantly finding new music.
Are the Beatles the reason why modern music exists
Well most modern music isn't heard on the radio or seen in the pop charts so maybe they didn't so bad a job.Maybe those who constantly moan about modern music don't actually search out something they would like.A very very common theme on here.
