First "audiophile" system, now what? Suggestions for best "bang for the buck" upgrade? You are receiving a lot of sage advice so far. I beg to differ on a couple of points. One being cables/power etc. While this can certainly enhance (and protect) your system, your question was "bang for the buck". In my experience, cables, power co...
Magnepan .7s' vs Zu Omens I have to add that I do have a sub right now though admittedly not audiophile level, Acoustech (BIC) PL-200 which did garner a "10" rating in it's price range.
Magnepan .7s' vs Zu Omens Thanks. As much as I like the Maggies, they lack the nth degree of "weight" my taste in music requires, I think....
First "audiophile" system, now what? Suggestions for best "bang for the buck" upgrade? You have been given a wealth of great advice already. I will say in 35 years in this wonderful hobby, the biggest difference maker in my systems has always been speakers. Amps, yes. CD players, yes. Cartridges, to a point. The room, certainly! How...
The merry go round. $700 seperates or integrated? I agree with yogiboy, go for the Sphinx. I've owned 2 and they are the best I heard at that price point. If you had to drop an extra $100.00, well worth it. Made in the USA as well!
Magnepan .7s' vs Zu Omens They are there, just ordered 1.
Magnepan .7s' vs Zu Omens Thank you sir. The Maggies do have a "magic" about them if set up properly. Sadly, I have to have my TV and Audio center between them which doesn't allow them to fully blossom (in theory). I do have a sub now which is not audiophile quality but i...
Magnepan .7s' vs Zu Omens The Omens because of space constrictions and budget....Perhaps the dirty weekend model for $1000.00
Opinions please on integrated for green mountain europas The Rogue Sphinx is a fine amp, doubles at 4 ohms as well. Tube pre-amp section offers the "best" of both worlds. Seek out the Ver.2, lower floor noise and improved phone section. Built in Pa, USA!
Recommendations for IC and speaker cable Anti-Cables. Reasonably priced and they "sound" just fine to me.
What is best turntable for listening to Rock from the sixties like Led Zeppelin? A bit of an odd-ball question but I am intrigued. There are many good responses here first of all. I'm not a vinyl nut but do own a turntable and do listen to Zep. I never though of "tuning" my TT to a specific genre of music but it is interesting...
Choosing a CD or SACD player over my Oppo BDP 95 seikosha, I had heard that as well. Then I talk to people who swear the 105 sounds more refined. I guess I'll find out soon, thanks for the input. If anything, I'll have the latest...
Universal Players vs. Dedicated CD/SACD Players Thank you tonykay. I had an all Macintosh system at one time and I felt their digital gear didn't keep up with their electronics. Unless you want the "all McIntosh" look (which I love) there are better options for digital playback IMHO.
Choosing a CD or SACD player over my Oppo BDP 95 Thanks lynott!
Choosing a CD or SACD player over my Oppo BDP 95 Well, I made a command decision this morning and snagged a mint "lightly used" Oppo BDP105 on Ebay (I know) for $860.00. It seems to be a solid deal and I admit to liking the multi-functionality the Oppo's provide. Less connecting, space taken up ... |
