Does your system have jump? Turn the volume level down.
smaller speaker suggestions I kind of fall in the same category as "Golden_ears," but I have a different take on your dilemma. Sure you can get a LS3/5A sized-speaker which do have a small footprint. But you are going to have to buy a sturdy speaker stand for them. In other ...
2 way vs 3 way / Monitors vs. Floorstanding Don't forget to factor in subwoofer(s) if you like bass or have a large room.
suggest tube amp wattage for my speakers..? Yes, you shouldn't have problem regarding overhead with 20 wpc amplifier. But do check with RBH about impedance curve & crossover slope. Believe me, you'll fell much better to have another opinion. One who's opinion I would trust over mine.Be s...
Speaker distance and tow in?????/ Second paragraph should say; See http://www.audiophysic.de/info/aufstellung/beispiel_e.htmlThird paragraph should say; See http://www.realtraps.com/art_room-setup.htmlSorry about confusion.
Speaker distance and tow in?????/ Most common loudspeaker/toe-in orientation I've seen involves speakers toed-in to apex of equalateral triangle & some kind of ratio formula. See: http://www.cardas.com/content.php?area=insights&content_id=26&pagestring=Room+SetupI've a...
suggest tube amp wattage for my speakers..? You should't have any problem with sensitivity. I was under impression you wanted to use as home speskers & sit approximately 6-9 foot away from RBH's. Sitting in nearfield overcomes a myriad of volume level problems. You should be able to eas...
suggest tube amp wattage for my speakers..? IMHO, impedance curve is probably most overlooked stat. for speaker use with tube amp. Check what frequency minimum impedance is at. Tube amps not good for impedances which have wild swings. 87dB sensitivity isn't very great. Recommend sticking...
Equipment that has made you 'stop' looking? Haven't seen a component to make me stop shopping. My tubed Pre-Amp does have the nicest tubed H/P amp I've ever heard, though. Is that going to make me stop?
MFSL Plastic Ono Band really that bad? Haven't seen TAS review but I think it sounds superior to any other Plastic Ono Band CD.
Regarding supertweeters Read: http://www.cco.caltech.edu/~boyk/spectra/spectra.htmYour own conclusions will be better than mine.
CD Help I second Jolida CDP. If you want better, get a Parts Connexion Level 1 or 2 mod. by buying from Underwood Audio in Atlanta.
The problem with the music I think it goes a bit farther than the technology used. Part of it is the recording engineers know-how. If it was just the technology, all LPs from the 60s-80s would consistently sound like s**t.
Speaker Efficiency Question? I think the correct figure is about 3dB. You will get about 90dB/w/m with the Tyler Acoustic speakers. Subtract about 2-3dB per meter after that. At 6'-8', you will get approx. 88dB/w/m. I wouldn't think "effiiciency" is too much of a consideratio...
Headphone amps Look at the Earmax (http://www.stoneaudio.co.uk/stoneaudio/products/details.asp?product=217) line. |
