We should reject hard-to-drive speakers more often
Geez @mrdecibel, my post above (or at least it’s last sentence) WAS offered in the spirit of lightening up. Too subtle? I can't believe I am asking this question: Do you actually take @kenjit seriously?!

Fortunately for we humans, distortion of lower frequencies isn’t as audible/objectionable to our ear/brain mechanism as is distortion of higher frequencies. Right, Ralph? Since the beginning of hi-fi and continuing to this day, woofers commonly pr...
The problem with PLC
@kenjit, the master of the straw man argument.

Are you interested in the new generation of "old school" design loudspeakers?
By the way, the prices mentioned in the video are per pair, not per speaker.
what are your top "audio bargins" in your system history?
In 1982 I saw a pair of ESS TranStatics listed in The Recycler, priced at $400. They originally retailed for $1200 in the early-70's, when I had lusted for a pair. The speaker is a 3-way, the highs reproduced by three RTR ESL tweeters (the same t...
Memory foam as bass treatment?
Yes they're somewhat expensive, but ASC Tube Traps remain state-of-the-art. Not everyone agrees with that proclamation. 😉
Tune of the Day
Ooh, great one @dabel! You might get a kick out of this one:   "I’m Sorry (But So Is Brenda Lee)". 😅   Written by Ben Vaughn, recorded by Marshall Crenshaw. It’s on Marshall’s Downtown album, which he co-produced with T Bone Burnett and Lar...

Wouldn’t ya just know it: I misspelled Adam’s name. ;-)   At any rate, here’s the video. You may have to back it up to it's beginning.   https://youtu.be/Kr3quGh7pJA
Subwoofer Choice
@hartf36: Yes indeed! Now you may want to check out the OB/Dipole Sub offered in collaboration between Brian Ding of Rythmik Audio and Danny Richie of GR Research (as is your F12G). It uses two or three (your choice) of the same paper cone woofer ...
Ray Charles - "Rap is not music"
@tylermunns obviously couldn’t be bothered to watch the video. If he had he would know that the argument is NOT being made against what he obviously thinks it is. Examined and discussed in the video is not just how race is involved, but also gend...

Here’s something tangentially related: There is a YouTube video (made and posted by Adan Neely, a very knowledgeable, intelligent, and articulate young man) entitled "Music Theory And White Supremacy", in which an interesting topic is explored: t...
un-becoming an audiophile
I’ve heard the term "recovering audiophile" said in jest. How ’bout "audiophilia in remission"? There ain’t no cure for the audiophilia blues. ;-)
Favorite genres for fun listening
For pure fun nothing beats Power Pop. But instrumental Bluegrass played at breakneck tempo is also thrilling, as is Baroque-era Classical keyboard works, particularly when performed on harpsichord.

@wolf-garcia: Well whatta ya know, someone else who considers John DeVore a smug, sanctimonious kinda guy! I haven’t heard any of his speakers (which may sound great; Art Dudley, Ken Micallef, and Steve Guttenberg certainly thought/think so), but ...
