Are these Speakers the BEST on Planet Earth ?...
@atmasphere is correct on both his points. The lowest note on a standard 4-string bass (electric or upright acoustic)---the E string played "open"---produces a 41Hz tone. I recently had to correct Myles Astor in a recent review of his; he used tha...
Tune of the Day
"One Hit Wonders Of The World Unite" by Badger. A "chimey" solo electric guitar opening is then joined with a guitar blasting a power chord, pounding drums, and a throbbing electric bass part. The opening leads to the first verse, a wonderful melo...
Best debut album
Richard Manuel (The Band’s pianist/singer) whiny? Wow, you DO need a set of better loudspeakers. ;-) Have you heard his duet with Van Morrison on "4% Pantomime"? How about "The Shape I’m In"? He’s like a white version of Ray Charles. Eric Clapton ...
What makes for a "good" musician?
@edcyn, by far the loudest band I ever heard live, much louder than The Who. Of course, it was in The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, a horrendous cement bunker of a room. Their song writing abilities are commonly over-looked. They were as much a P...

He's been in the biz a long time; I've been patronizing him since he was in Northern California. His online catalog reflects a wealth of knowledge and experience.

I was startled the first time I saw and heard Yo Yo Ma perform live; he literally "attacked" his cello. I was not AS surprised when I saw how aggressively Elvin Jones played, but my gawd did he hit his drums hard. Made Keith Moon look like a p*uss...

By the way, I too have bought parts from Michael Percy, the last time earlier this year. I hope he's doing okay, he's a great source.
What About Kuzma?
Agree @cd318, SME as well. Excellent designs and quality of construction. One Kuzma owner is Audiogoner whart, located in Austin, Texas, who is very happy with his table and arm.

I’ve read concerns from a couple of amplifier designers about time constant ramifications resulting from the use of bypass caps. They state that contrary to the opinion of some audiophiles, bypass caps are to be avoided whenever possible. The obvi...
Bob Dylan - new album just out on Tidal - Rough and Rowdy Ways
Right @tostadosunidos, Moondog Matinee included some of the songs The Band were performing in their sets while playing bars as The Hawks (1960-65, pre-Dylan). Great versions of those songs, and since the album is intended to reproduce that era, I ...

They look more like studio monitors than music reproducers for home use. I'll bet they sound that way too.
Where would you place Symposium Rollerblocks for best results on digital equipment?
mrc4u---you should know that the Roller Block (and all other roller bearings) do NOT provide isolation in the vertical plane. They need to be used in conjunction with something that does.

For a table with asymmetrical mass distribution, one can use the Townshend Audio Seismic Pods of different weight capabilities. The Pod is offered in ascending weight load ratings: 1-2kg, 2-4, 4-8, 8-16, 16-32, 32-64. I've tried them in sets of th...
Bob Dylan - new album just out on Tidal - Rough and Rowdy Ways
Yeah @roxy54, not to mention Roy Orbison!Speaking of The Stray Cats, they were produced by Welshman Dave Edmunds. In 1970, while The Dead and The Airplane were making the Rock music they are known for (which DID contain trace elements of Folk and ...

@tomcy6, Crowell is fantastic! The Houston Kid album is in my Top 10 albums of all-time list, an absolute masterpiece. His former father-in-law Johnny Cash makes a guest appearance on one song, the Rockabilly-esque "I Walk The Line (Revisited)". I...
