A Little Bit of Freedom - Robin Trower.
My Gray Experience
Sorry to hear but thanks for sharing your experience.  Reinforces taking the time to research online dealers.  I’ve purchased a lot of equipment online and some sites I avoid after checking them out.  If you’re not completely comfortable I suggest...
More on XLR vs RCA considerations?
On short runs with well made equipment you probably won’t notice an audible difference.  I have both and choose to use XLR cables and connections when available.  The cables click or lock in place so it’s a secure connection especially with other ...
Streamer, no DAC please?
Recommend  Innuos streamers.  They have several different models depending on your budget including used ones you can usually find online.  Their Sense app works well with Qobuz, which is the steaming service I use and recommend.
Whats playing on your system today?
Little Feat - Waiting for Columbus.  The 8 CD set.  A great boogie woogie band in their prime.
Are Headphones Fit for Serious Music Listening?
Interesting topic.  I only use headphones when traveling.  Focal Bathys to block out the airplane engine noise with my music.  I find it much enjoyable to listen to speakers at home.
I often notice that people who have open reel decks and/or tube equipment are nicest
Guys with tubes usually learn to roll with it.
Chord M Scaler with HiFi Rose 130 streamer?
On question 2.  I upgraded from my Bluesound Node N130 streamer to an Innuos Zen Mk3 streamer and I heard a noticeable difference.  Based on that I think you would hear a difference too moving to the Rose streamer.  Agree that the DAC has more imp...
I should start with speakers. This I know. I’d like to establish a new system.
Welcome back my friend to the show that never ends.  A good idea to get out and listen to different setups.  Suggest checking out local dealers with listening rooms so you can determine which way you want to go.  Most will let you try at home and ...
The best opening act you've ever seen & heard?
Thanks for sharing the ticket prices of some of the shows.  I could afford going to concerts back in the day working part time at a grocery store.  Now the tickets cost more than a week’s groceries for the family.  My kids want to see Post Malone ...
The best opening act you've ever seen & heard?
Another that could fit this category is the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Bob Dylan Alone and Together tour I saw outdoors in 85.  TP opened, then Dylan played, then Dylan played with TP as his backing band.  One of my all time favorite show...
The best opening act you've ever seen & heard?
Shea Stadium in New York October 1981.  The Clash opened for The Who.  They shot their video for Should I Stay or Should I Go that night.  Runner up, Montrose opened for Black Sabbath at the Providence Civic Center.  My 1st concert.  Ronnie Montro...
Any piece of equipment you currently dream of ?
McIntosh power amp.  Want it for the blue meters I’ve liked since I was young.  Don’t need it or have room for it.   That’s why it’s a dream.
Whats playing on your system today?
Fortune Teller Blues - Jos Bonamassa and Sammy Hagar
New remastering of Steely Dan's Katy Lied review by Fremer
Great songs that suffer from recording decisions at the time.  Once it’s on tape there’s only do much you can do.  One thing I like about SD reissues is that they are not as compressed as many other recent reissues.  I find I have to crank the vol...
