Comparison of $11,000 - $15,000 reference speakers
Goc did you get a chance to hear the Tyler's Woodmere's?
The under 10K speaker
Dsremer I certainly would love to hear your review on the awesome looking Woodmere's, with those gorgeous dual Seas Excel W26's, 10 inch woofers. To my mind the most musical 'subwoofer". How do they meet the dual W18's? I would guess Ty has the W2...

Questions about tubes
Mwilson I've had 3 experiences with KT88's and found your comment contrary to my experience. 1) bought a quad of EH Kt88's for my Jadis Orch Refer(KT90 amp). 2) heard 2 different Audio research with Kt88's 3) home demoed a Chinese KT88 ampFrom the...
Anyone else evolve beyond tubes?
Nope, never gave it any thought.
Consonance Cyber 800/845 Valve amps; how good?
Hi Audio, just on the one amp I own , the JOR. I've heard this amp through several speakers and had simuliar results, that is dynamic/detailed/fq separations. Not warm at all. Speakers heard the JOR through were Cabasse (MTM model 4 yrs ago), Mira...
Review on the Tyler Acoustics Lynbrook Signature's
Good, I made a review of this speaker recently. It may be pages back. In my session I brought along a 40 watt tube amp and delivered bass with authority and dynamics in mids /highs. This is not a power hungry speaker , though it does look intimida...
Consonance Cyber 800/845 Valve amps; how good?
Peter, the 845 must truly be some kind of musical experience. maybe one day i'll have the 845 with a matched speaker as a second system. Right now I'm concentrating on upgrading my amp and speakers. I'm sticking with the KT90 tube. Its the one I'v...
Review on the Tyler Acoustics Lynbrook Signature's
Yes, the Linbrook and any speaker that use Excel's are neutral. The description 'warm" is a s i describe above. Heavy, bloated midrange. This applies to almost every speaker I've auditioned in the past 10 yrs. It is extremely difficult for a drive...
Review on the Tyler Acoustics Lynbrook Signature's
Carlos the only thing I would point out in your post above is that the Tyler LSS mids are 'warm'. They are not warm as how I understand the term "warm". I define warm as , "hazy/smokey/heavy/ veiled, as if the speaker itself is inside a box, which...
Consonance Cyber 800/845 Valve amps; how good?
Peter I'm confused about your comment "if you need an aweful lot of power...300B logical choice". As I heard a 300B (not sure if it was Cayin's pushpull or single ended version) anyway hooked up to Silverlines and for light stuff they were excelle...
Law of Diminishing Returns - CD/SACD Players
Hammer raises the issue I've been spouting off here on this thread and for the last time. On a clean system, that is both the amp and speakers have purity/cleanness/fidelity/accuracy you will notice the difference between player A and B. It is hig...
Xover parts quality,/sound difference?
Labs accountants/owners "lets see i can order 5K of this capacitor for $5/each...thats ...$25K...or I can oder this cap at $40 each, thats....$200K....I think I'll get the $5 cap. Who's gonna know the difference anyway..." I'm afriad this takes pl...
Xover parts quality,/sound difference?
How many of us either 1) have actually seen with our eyes, the Xover in our speakers2) know the brands of the parts used, and if its "run-of-the-mill" cheapis or best that money can buy.I just looked at Madisounds web, and there seems to be from c...
Review on the Tyler Acoustics Lynbrook Signature's
Tvad if you do your research on Von Schweizkerts web site, you will see that you are mistaken. I had my doubts if VS used a different size mid than the LLS (Lin Sig Sys). And sure enough I was correct. If you go to the VR5 description , VS says we...
