Soundstage depth and width
If money and time weren't an issue - and I mean a complete non-issue - I think we would all be quite content with spending countless hours and dollars tooling with this, that and the other to bring our favorite music closer and closer to whatever ...
Soundstage depth and width
Face, Precisely.Orpheus10,To me it's a serious piece of equipment, but to others I'm sure it's just an old integrated, riddled with "design flaws." I've never heard these flaws, but have read all about them. Damn haters. ;)
Soundstage depth and width
Let me add that when I say "spilling out into the room" doesn't really qualify to me as "depth," per se. It does, however, jibe with what I call "full-bodied." In my experience, getting the sound to "appear" as if it's coming from behind the speak...
Soundstage depth and width
I'm using an Audio Innovations Series 500 integrated, fitted with Genalex Gold Lion KT77's, 6922's (phase inverters), and 12AX7's (one line driver, and the other two for the phono stage). I place a lot of importance on the '500. All the other inte...
Soundstage depth and width
Rrog,Inna's thread is titled "soundstage depth and width." My take on "soundstage width" is sound that extends outside the stance of the speakers... "Soundstage depth," then, would be the other axis, if you will, of the stereo image: that which ex...
Soundstage depth and width
Let me add that my use of the term "hobby" is used solely with regard to the equipment involved. I, by no means, consider listening to music a hobby, but rather - at least for me - a necessity of life and one of endless enjoyment, regardless of sa...
Soundstage depth and width
It would be my preference to not be able to identify the speakers: I would like to not be able to point at either one of them and think, "The sound is coming from right there." That being said, width would give the illusion that the sound is comin...
Zu Omen or Tekton Lore
I received my Lores last Wednesday. The packaging, fit, finish... everything...was top notch, and the fact that Eric takes the time to give you updates on where your speakers are in the build and paint phases, and give you specific unpacking instr...
Your 5 Fav Rock Concerts
Well, %$#@...CHEAP TRICK @ Stubbs (Austin), 2004- I remember talking all kinds of mess on the way to Austin, not really even knowing anything about the band (beyond the very few songs I had heard). We got there, found a spot, and rocked the house....
Cat-proofing your speakers...
I understand your concern...I'm awaiting the delivery of some Tekton Lores any day now and am worried to death that our cats are going to find the whizzer cone and go to town like they did my Moth Audio Cicada's. In fact, I purposefully ordered th...
What's your favorite lyric from a song?
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. ;)
Underrated jazz greats
Bobby Timmons. - I remember going to see The Eddie Gomez Trio play a Bill Evans tribute @ Cezanne in Houston in 2003. The other two in Gomez's trio were Stefan Karlsson on piano and Jimmy Cobb on drums. I brought a copy of Timmons' This Here is Bo...

I hate to do it, but I must add a ninth...and how could've have forgotten about this one:PEARL JAM @ The Unicorn, 1991- The was their debut tour, with a young Soundgarden opening. The venue was an old Safeway (I believe); Eddie hung from the alumi...
Looking for a DAC for the Squeezebox Touch
Let me add that the whole battery power thing was accomplished using a $15 sealed lead acid battery and a $30 charger.
where do I put my v-dac?
If the BL DAC seems fine, then run the LD player through the V-DAC. Done. Otherwise, do the obvious and compare/contrast the two. It can't take *that* long.
