Best steak to eat while listening to your rig?
I haven't been to the Whitehouse in many years. But I remember eating there as also being an event as much as the great hoagies. I've been able to "star watch" there on a few occasions. The roll was the key to their hoagies. I didn't like the chee...
If you could bring back one great artist that has
@mapman. I'd like to believe if Cobain had still been around his music would have evolved. I can't necessarily say the same about Janis but I just loved her voice. Speaking of the 27 Club members, I wonder how Morrison would have progressed? Did T...

@mapman. For bad or worse their pain helped their talent. Listen to Clapton, Dylan or Floyd. You can tell by their songs and the different times or stages in their lives. Even Miles Davis. Picaso. There are many artists that use their personal tra...

@ Mapman Pink Floyd isn't exactly uplifting but there's no denying their place in rock. I do believe, however that both Janis' and Cobain's music would have grown and somewhat matured as time went by. Especially Cobain's. I believe he had a way of...
Best steak to eat while listening to your rig?
@ Trelja. That's easy. Steve's Prince of Steaks in the NE. Forget Pat's, Jim's, Geno's or Tony Luke's. Anyone that tries Steve's is an instant convert. That said, you can do a pretty fair job at home using thinly sliced ribeye and a good roll. Don...

Thinly sliced ribeye, a thin crusty roll, fried onions and a good melting cheese. Or what we colloquially call a Philly Cheesesteak wit.
Where does your user name come from?
Baka is Japanese for "stupid". 1969 is the year that my ex wife and I were born. So basically it's a dig at the both of us.
Pink Floyd in HI REZ......finally
No-one can have too many copies of Pink Floyd. I've had them in vinyl, 8 track, cassette, and CD. Several times over in many cases. Now I'll buy them again... I'll pass on the Best Of though. Floyd should only be listened to by their original albu...
Old vs. New
Isn't the Rega Saturn supposed to sound warm and analogue-like? Heck, isn't the entire Rega line supposed to have that character? Yes, obviously the 'tables are analogue. But I'm talking about their CD players, amps and speakers. These are all 21s...
Great sounding CDs out there...
@RcrerarI have to disagree. I thinks it's a good sounding recording. No it's not "Jazz at the Pawnshop" but for a rock recording from that era I find it better than most.

budget speakers for Musical Fidelity A300 ?
I'll second the Maggie MMG speakers. You see them in the classifieds for around $400 and sound terrific for the money.
What is the best quality boom box w/cd player.
Mini systems like the NAD C715 the Cambridge Audio One+ or the new Marantz CR603 coupled with speakers like the Cambridge Sirocco bookshelves might be a decent option. I haven't heard any of the above and can't speak of their sound quality. I will...
