Can Meridian G68 preamp bypass DSP & stay analog? An ideal clean-up PLL after the digital source would provide the same signal to the preamp, regardless of the digital source. Of course, there is no such thing as an ideal clean-up PLL. But it seems reasonable that there is one that may suffice. I...
Can Meridian G68 preamp bypass DSP & stay analog? Here is what I am getting at. I am looking to add a new source as I think it is the weak link in my system. My system is all Meridian except for the source (HD621 -> G68 -> G57 & G55). The HD621 cleans up jitter (what jitter BW?) with th...
Logitech squuexebox being discontinued? No HDMI on Squeezebox just S/PDIF. Just as well because jitter should be lower over coax. What digital source do you use?
Meridian G68 or G61R Jose, At the end of the room correction test, you have to right clicking on the profile and then select "build". Otherwise, you will get zero filters.
Linn Components I listened to a Linn system in a demo room. One thing I look for is a large sound stage and a precise image. With this system, everything sounded like it was coming from just one or two spots, and it sounded compressed. Maybe the speakers were not...
Pre/Pro in Computer Setup I see that you are using the Pace Car in front of the G68 to clean up jitter. Have you compared the Pace Car to Meridian's HD621? From what I understand, they both clean up jitter using a FIFO and PLL.
Has anyone heard the Meridian G57 power amp? I own it. It is a fine amp. Right now it is connected directly to an Apple Express. No preamp. Sounds great.
To terminate.. or not Actually, I was talking about EMI radiating out of the binding post and onto adjacent compnoents/cables. Speaker cable doesn't need to be sheilded because it has low impedance and high current.
To terminate.. or not You can shield the entire cable to reduce radiated EMI except for the termination. So how do you reduce radiated EMI at this point? The answer may be geometry of the termination. You probably want something flat and wide because it dissipates the ...
To terminate.. or not Yes, surface area makes sense. But do you really get contact over the entire surface? Both the spade and the binding post are probably not as flat as they may seem to the naked eye. The result is contact only on highest spots of the top surface an...
Speaker cable, connection Thanks. I get it that the cable is suspect. In fact its probably exactly the case. My question was has anyone experienced anything like this that was not because of the cable?
Vandersteen 5A vs Meridian DSP8000 Thanks. I am more interested in music than movies, but I do have a 7.1 channel Meridian system (analog system, not DSP speakers). The nice thing about Meridian DSP speakers is that you don't need to match electronics. They are already integrated, ...
To terminate.. or not It depends on your requirements. The best connection is to solder because it eliminates the #1 problem of contact reliability, which is tension force. Obvisouly soldering is not always an option and you must connect meachanically. In which case, b...
Meridian HD621 Thanks Stearnsn. The Mackbook Pro and the ATV should be equivalent. That means that HD621 is creating the improvement.
Meridian HD621 Kal, I found your article. Thanks. |
