Is There A Moveable Base To Easily Voice Speakers?
I guess once the "movable-base" is in place; a "movable listening Feast is next?
Theta Pro Basic II DAC......still a contender?
I had me a Basic II about 12/14 years ago,so we know it is dated (+)---But I think it will help in your case. I just kinda figgure it (Theta), would be a better dac, than the dac in most budget cd players.__ Had me one of those Wonderlinks, too. Th...
buyer beware of late
Yes, it can be diff. buying from new members, meaning those with no FB. I guess it's a tightrope and so far I have been lucky. Sometimes it can be hard separating desire for the item and the caution one must use under said conditions. It has always...
Sinatra question
Sorry. can't help much with the early stuff but I'd be looking at stuff he did with Tommy and Jimmy and the Modernairs. At 67, I was a Sinatra fan way back when. I loved all the phases he went thru.---However, my fav. is the "Sept. Of My Years". Go...
Is There A Moveable Base To Easily Voice Speakers?
Generally you try to get them close without the spikes; then put the spikes on / tilt the speaker to get it on one spike and rotate in any direction.(unless the speakers are 300lbs or over.)
Marantz SR-9600
Yo, I also have a 9300---I also use external amps for the front. I'm not read-up on whatever differences the new 9600 has; but (me) I wouldn't spend a dime / not to mention how much you would lose selling your 93'/ just getting a few more features...
I'm SHOCKED literally .
In the past I got such a shock from my amp. In my case it was because the amp wasn't grounded, a cheater plug/ adaptor was in place. When it's windy and dry I still get mini shocks;and don't use those cheater adaptors. I live in Southern Ca.
Merlin speakers a new start for me
I can only compare MM's as to how they sounded in my room with whatever speakers I have owned. Compared to Montana EPS--MM;s killed the EPS from the mid on up. However from the mid down it wasn't close at all. Much like the Wilson Sophia--vs MM's-...
"Off" vs. "Standby" and tube life
Been a tube guy for 20 years. I have always shut things down after each session. This refers to amps and pre amps./ My CAT has 10 tubes. To retube my CJ 8's is well over 1k. A one or 2 tube cd player would be best left on 24/7. Cost of retubing a ...
Merlin speakers a new start for me
I don't know how much bass energy you have now, but I had MM's for several months and to be sure, they are lacking in that area. I speak to the lower 1/4 of all music.(as mia)--and I did miss it enough to sell them.
Can a monitor sound like a floorstander??
Well having owned Merln MM for about 5 months___ I give you the floorstander that sounds like a monitor. Changing nothing but speakers-only,to Sophia; I became aware, and wonder why nobody says a dam thing about this. At least folks mention this a...
Pink Floyd concert DVDs
I too have been waiting years for the "Roger-less" DSOT. I did buy the same live version on cd. There is a studio and a live verson;on cd, and the studio just don't have the same energy.

Got Sophia's and strong fingers---as in---been there,done that.(just not in a while)
MC Cartridge suggestions for Rega RB300?
I got the vpi jr with the 300b arm. I had the spacer and arm rewire done;---got a glider as well. 'Almost forgot when I went to the xlo 3.1 cable---big help there,as well. 'Cause phono cables matter.
