Hi current or source power cable I tested 3 power cords on my Aurender N200 streamer. Furutech FP-S55n (10awg), FP-S032n (12awg) and AQ Tornado High Current. I preferred the heavier gauge cables. Currently using the AQ Tornado HC. AQ Makes “source” version of Tornado and Hurrica...
750$ Intel NUC vs $6000 Aurender N200: I don't hear the difference I had Rogue RP1 preamp that retails for around $1600? I bought it used for about $1200. I had Audience OHNO ( oh no…) interconnects on it initially then upgraded to Acoustic Zen Matrix Ref II, then to Acoustic Zen Absolute Copper. I also put a No...
Ribbon cable inside amplifiers @donavabdea you have posed this same question on the why cables matter thread and I think in few other places as well. You’re beating a dead horse. The discussion here is ribbon cables. Those are used for non-audio-essential tasks such as control ...
Ribbon cable inside amplifiers @daledeee1 yup about an hour to come to temperature and start to really sing but even cold my X260.8 monos sound great.
Ribbon cable inside amplifiers I ran XP12 and XP22 with XA30.8 and X260.8. Good synergy. Recently compared XP22 and Audio Research Ref6. The ARC preamp is a good companion to Pass amp, but you’re sticking with solid state…so Pass is a good choice.
Ribbon cable inside amplifiers Ok. Not trolling. Nervous. I get it. How does the XA25 sound?
USB to Dual Coax Bridge for Qutest DAC I’m glad you liked the M3!!! I also knew you would. 😂 Let it all settle. If you like the Mirage, just keep it. Like I said before, it’s decent. As to Audience StudioOne…they say it’s a replacement for the AU24SE+. That’s what the rep told me whe...
Ribbon cable inside amplifiers oh man…seeing Erik defend Pass I had to pinch myself to make sure I was awake…just kidding… @silverfoxvtx1800 stop trolling. Angela amps looked interesting to you but Pass Labs amps look odd because you saw a ribbon cable? You don’t think it’s od...
Have Luxman 509x. Considering Pass Labs INT-250 or Dan D’Agostino Progression Integrated Hey @erik_squires I’m fine with what you’re hearing. No need to flare up. You hate Pass. I get it. And you’re making it abundantly clear every time you see the brand brought up in a discussion. I guess you can call me a Pass fanboy. I’ve owned s...
New Amp... Is it time to switch my speaker cables?? Good recommendations above. Depends on your budget. AZ Satori and Cardas will be warm sounding. Audience will be more open sounding but still natural and not harsh - you can try AU24SX or the FrontRow. I would also add Nordost Tyr 2 to the list, a...
Help With New Preamp Decision Another vote for Audio Research Ref5SE or stretch it to Ref6. Age is not a factor with these preamps - as long as you got fresh tubes they’ll run fine. Your original list consists mostly of what I’d consider “boutique” brands. Excluding a reputabl...
USB to Dual Coax Bridge for Qutest DAC @drlou77 so take this with a grain of salt…because this was with a Lumin U1 Mini streamer going into the Chord Qutest…I never tried the DH Labs Mirage with the M3. But the improvements were: natural tone, no hint of digital glare, fuller sound, fu...
USB to Dual Coax Bridge for Qutest DAC I find with the digital components, at least in my system to my ears, bigger gauge power cables seem to work best. 12 or 10 awg. I am currently using a Furutech FP-S032N that I terminated myself. I had good results with Audience AU24SEi MP, Audioq...
Have Luxman 509x. Considering Pass Labs INT-250 or Dan D’Agostino Progression Integrated I have heard the MA8950 in my system with the Sabrinas. It was good. The MA12000 should be a good step up from the MA8950. McIntosh includes a decent phono amp but the DAC in these integrated amps isn’t anything to write home about.
New streamer Lumin app is hideous. Absolutely the worst in my opinion. Use Roon if you get Lumin. that’s what I did. Auralic Lightning DS is very nice and so is the Aurender Conductor app. If I were you, I would go with a Lumin U2 and get Roon. Skip the Min... |
