Lowend amp
The Belles amp recommended by @roxy54 above actually looks interesting but I never heard it and don’t know how it matches with b&w.  Another amp I would recommend and it’s super rare is a McCormack DNA500 but I’m not sure you can get it for $2...

Big B&Ws, I don’t think you can get anything that would equal the performance, sound and control of the KSA250 for $2,000. You would need a big high current amp.
Aurender n200, talk me out of signing on the dotted line
I have zero issues using iPad or iPhone with Conductor 4.  I only have my Aurender for about 3 months though. Solid as a rock.

There’s a used pulse mini on us audiomart for $1200 or so
Planar Speakers and Diffusors
No 💩! Wow Still worth it though in my opinion. I wouldn’t rush. How about asking speaker manufacturer for their thoughts? Also…If the problem doesn’t really exist I would advise against trying to solve it.

Lumin U1 Mini for around a grand? https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/650074852-lumin-mini-u1-black-streamer/ UI is not the best but sounds pretty good.

@ozzy brush this by the guys at GIK if you haven’t yet. This is tricky and no two listening rooms are the same. Send pics and dimensions to GIK. Their recommendations for me were spot on.

Tidal library is gradually undergoing a conversion from MQA to Max which is the same as Qobuz hires. I wouldn’t make MQA support a requirement.  What’s the budget for the new streamer?
Playback Designs MPD6 or Bricasti M21?
Bricasti network card is a renderer and not a streamer. This means you need a Roon Core or a UPnP support player like MConnect to be able to stream music.  I used both Mconnect and Roon with M3 and preferred Roon for both the sound and UI. Ultimat...

  wlutke OP 681 posts 03-28-2024 at 07:56am  @dwest1023  Should I get sound on par with my CD I'll be happy as a pig in spit.  Good to hear. I don’t see why not. Few weeks ago I compared the N200 to Marantz SA10 spinning CDs. To make cer...
Aurender n200, talk me out of signing on the dotted line
@wlutke keep in mind the N200 is more resolving than the U2 Mini so if the issues you’re describing exist elsewhere in your setup i.e components, cables and room acoustics, which I think they do, they will be exacerbated. You’ll figure it out when...

@wlutke lol @soix I figured.

@wlutke I’ll add that your disc spinning days could be over when the N200 is in

The Aurender UI, Conductor 4 app, is actually very good. Thr N200 is super stable.  As a long time Roon user, I can say I got used to the Conductor app in about a day or two and don’t miss Roon anymore after a few months with N200. I guess I’m no...
