Center placed equipment stands Forgot to add that just because your components use XLRs doesnt mean that these components are truly balanced!
Center placed equipment stands One of the best reasons for balanced electronics with the appropriate interconnects. Long I/C runs are feasible.
What is the best HEAVY METAL speaker? I agree with Atma-sphere.
Best realistic omni type speaker option? Second on the Duevels. Never really warmed to Ohms although my exposure is limited.
First order/Time Phase-Coherent speakers discussions Dont forget the significance of first order crossovers.
Information that may be of interest to Klipsch owners or wannabes My friend in Portland takes his speakers with damage to a local woodworker for repair. It seems that the prices were reasonable.
First order/Time Phase-Coherent speakers discussions Forgot to add that I have really liked some of the Vandersteen speakers I have heard over the years. To this day I think they make superb lower cost speakers. Hated the older Thiels to a large degree because of the tweeter he used.
First order/Time Phase-Coherent speakers discussions I think bdp is correct, no truly full range driver has been invented. However I have heard some lately that gave me pause and so completely eclipsed what was available even a few years ago.

First order/Time Phase-Coherent speakers discussions Dont get me wrong I am not a huge fan of single driver speakers, but the lack of crossovers in some speakers is a significant factor in making them viable for some. Also of note is manufacturers which operate certain drivers full range in 2 and 3 ...
Klipsch speaker choices Are you sure wolf's post is not directed at you mrd? After all I think it was you who said "I am a gifted and experienced listener". I would suggest that it is the Klipsch crowd who are the "uber sensitive". I dont recall Wilson or Magico fanboys ...
First order/Time Phase-Coherent speakers discussions Yes getting to get the drivers to coalesce using the simplest and most efficient method possible which presupposes using the fewest crossover components. Amplitude and phase are very important but even the best crossovers just minimize the damage....
The 5 stages of making a bad audio purchase I used to love smoking pot and listening to music. With the mean green that is so present now I dont really enjoy much of anything when I am high. We need to go back to the browns, golds and reds of yesteryear. If it aint grow outside it isnt wort... |
